App recommendation: I rarely share or endorse specific apps as I believe that user experience (UX) is personal and subjective, but I've recently been exploring and trialling the Blinkist app and am finding it super-helpful for my research, learning and development. The app features short summaries of popular book titles in audio and written format, so you can listen and read along. Each book is sub-divided into short sections or 'Blinks', which are clear and well-structured. As a self-identified bibliophile, I'm rarely convinced of any alternative, but with astigmatism, fading eyesight and limited research hours, this app enables to me to access and learn from different ideas, insights and perspectives, that I wouldn't necessarily choose to invest in buying and reading the full book version of. Albeit with the app, I may be persuaded to invest! I frequently skim-read or 'scan' non-fiction books that labour their points, so it avoids that too... They have some free titles, including on Tech, Innovation, Leadership and Philosophy, and you can start with a free trial plan. #AccessibleInsight #InnovationInsight

When you've got a continuous learning mindset, you'll want to find ways to consume more content. And this is the best hack I've found so far. I came across an app called Blinkist. Essentially, it summarises entire books for you into bite-sized information that's easy to digest. You have the option to either read the summary or listen back to it (like a podcast!) And with the amount of reading that I'm required to do on the master's, this has been a Godsend. Yes, it's not as super detailed as reading the actual book and for those who use this method, you could be open to oversimplifying some of the theories and principles - but I think the magic is when you pair this with critical reflection. When you truly apply the bite-sized principles to your own situations and challenges, that's where the beauty in bite-sized learning happens. And of course, if you want to dive into the book further, you can! The difference is, you'll have a base understanding of what they're trying to convey. Give it a try - I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts and experiences with this app!

Mindful breathing is a simple yet effective tool to stay present, calm racing thoughts, and reduce stress. So give it a try and follow these steps: 1️⃣ Whether at home, commuting to the office, or sitting at your desk, try to find a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down. 2️⃣ Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to relax. 😌 3️⃣ Focus your attention on your breath. 4️⃣ Pay close attention to the sensation of your breath entering and leaving your nostrils or the rise and fall of your chest or abdomen. 5️⃣ As you breathe in and out, observe the breath without trying to change it in any way. 6️⃣ Your mind may wander, and that’s okay. 7️⃣ When you notice your thoughts drifting, gently bring your focus back to your breath. 8️⃣ Continue this practice for a few minutes, gradually extending the duration as you become more comfortable with it.
