BMG inks worldwide agreement to administer the catalog of legendary flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía 🎉 Representatives of Paco de Lucía's estate said, “Paco’s music is timeless, and this agreement with BMG ensures that his legacy will continue to flourish and reach new generations of music lovers around the world.” Javier Doria Dulanto, BMG Managing Director Spain, said, “We are honored to administer the publishing catalog of Paco de Lucía, a true legend whose music continues to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide. This partnership reflects BMG's commitment to preserving and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of flamenco music.” A Grammy nominee and four-time Latin Grammy winner, Paco de Lucía has left an indelible mark on the world of flamenco guitar, transcending the boundaries of the genre. Throughout his illustrious career, de Lucía has collaborated with such renowned musicians as guitarist Carlos Santana, pianist Chick Corea, and guitarist Al Di Meola. In the 1970s, he formed an important musical alliance with singer Camarón de la Isla, which played a pivotal role in the emergence of the New Flamenco movement. As noted by Richard Chapman and Eric Clapton in their book Guitar: Music, History, Players, de Lucía is described as “a titanic figure in the world of flamenco guitar,” underscoring his profound contributions to the evolution of guitar music. Celebrating Entrepreneurship: BMG's leaders are ready for the next chapter of growth! #wearebmg After two inspiring days at Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA’s Leading Entrepreneurship Conference (LEC) in Amsterdam, where over 300 top executives from across Bertelsmann gathered, we’re more motivated than ever heading into this next chapter of our growth journey. Fueled by Bertelsmann’s four growth vectors - Boost, Regional Boost, Next and Break Out - we drew inspiration from both Bertelsmann's entrepreneurs and external speakers. A highlight and moment of pride for our team was Jon Loba's keynote address, where he shared a mantra that resonated with all of us: humble, hungry, curious! I’m proud of our 17 senior executives who connected with global leaders on various aspects of our Bertelsmann DNA, especially around the theme of entrepreneurship. From sharing entrepreneurial success stories to exploring value creation, leadership strategies for navigating a complex geopolitical landscape, and addressing new challenges, these discussions were incredibly insightful. Thank you all for not only showing up but for actively engaging in these important conversations. A further special thanks to Thomas Rabe who highlighted Bertelsmann’s commitment to growth and creativity, and shared plans for new investments which will elevate and reinforce BMG’s commitment to our artists and songwriters as well as to industry-leading technology advancements. Creativity and entrepreneurship form the foundations of our strategy and future success, and I feel super energized and excited for what’s still to come and what this great team will unleash. For the first time, "The Concert for Bangladesh", the GRAMMY® Award-winning album from George Harrison, Ravi Shankar & friends, is now available for streaming across all major digital music providers worldwide.   The Concert for Bangladesh was the first major music benefit of its kind. Two sold out concerts at New York’s Madison Square Garden brought together an extraordinary assemblage of major artists collaborating for a common humanitarian goal – setting the precedent that music could be used to serve a higher cause. #concertforbangladesh   George Harrison said at the time: “The musicians were great. I mean they completely put down their own egos to play together and to do something because the whole vibe of that concert was that it was something bigger than the lot of us.”   Harrison organized the two groundbreaking concerts to direct global attention to the unfolding humanitarian crisis and raise funds for UNICEF’s work with the refugees. He assembled an all-star line-up of fellow artists including Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, Leon Russell, Billy Preston, and, of course, Ravi Shankar. All net proceeds will go to the George Harrison Fund for UNICEF, continuing the legacy of supporting children in need around the world. ➡️ Stream the album here: https://lnkd.in/dFik-2qQ Read more: lnk.to/9WTnoiFz
