Yesterday, we published our preliminary unaudited results for FY2024. Despite challenging market conditions, we have made significant strides in operational efficiency and sustainability. 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: • 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵: EU sales grew by 8%, and US sales by 10% • 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻: Improved to 50.9%, up by 3 percentage points • 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: 88% of raw materials from recycled sources • 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: New raw material processing technology, increased automation and new products launched from co-development programs with key customers 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: • 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀: €181.9 million, reflecting an 8% decrease due to intentional price reductions and lower volumes in the US and Contract manufacturing. • 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗕𝗜𝗧𝗗𝗔: €20.5 million, with a margin of 11.3% • 𝗡𝗲𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹: €26.5 million or 14.6% of sales which is well within our medium-term guidance • 𝗡𝗲𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝘁: Increased to €72.0 million • 𝗧𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗘𝗫: €18.7 million, which is a significant reduction compared to prior year Looking ahead, we remain focused on cash generation, operational excellence, and next-generation solutions. Without intensified recycling efforts, by 2050, oceans 🌊 could contain more plastic than fish and producing virgin plastic could account for up to 15% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Action is needed! Challenges and Opportunities: • Quality and Appeal: Recycled plastic must be appealing, durable, and high-quality. Sorting and separating different types of plastic is key. • Cost & Market Dynamics: Virgin plastic is often cheaper than recycled plastic. Addressing this cost gap is essential for making recycling financially viable. • Modern Infrastructure: Advanced, automated recycling plants are necessary to meet future demands cost-effectively. Together, we can transform plastic recycling into a system that benefits both the planet and industry.
