Today marks a historic milestone for CAPHENIA as we welcome our Plasma-Boudouard-Reactor (#PBR) from MAN Energy Solutions in Deggendorf to our construction site in the industrial park, Infraserv GmbH & Co. Höchst KG, in #Frankfurt, where it is now being integrated into the existing facility 🏗️. This moment is especially significant considering our long journey to reach this point. With all components now on site, we are excited to announce that our pilot plant will start operating at the end of the first half of 2025. "Today, we are on the final stretch of realizing our vision of renewable fuels for climate-neutral mobility.     "Renewable fuels don't completely solve the #emissions problem—carbon dioxide is still produced." ➡️While it's true that burning renewable fuels still results in the release of carbon dioxide (CO2), the key difference lies in the source of that CO2 and the way it’s managed. Traditional #fossil fuels release CO2 that has been locked away for millions of years, adding new carbon to the atmosphere. In contrast, our renewable fuels are produced by recycling existing CO2 ♻️. This creates a closed-loop cycle 🔄: the CO2 released during fuel combustion is the same CO2 that was initially captured to produce the fuel. In this way, we aren't adding new carbon to the atmosphere, making our approach a far more sustainable alternative.     💡PtL or PBtL? Many of you have heard of Power-to-Liquid (PtL) fuels. The PtL process converts renewable electricity into liquid fuels, such as synthetic kerosene. It involves producing hydrogen through electrolysis of water using renewable energy, then combining the hydrogen with carbon dioxide (CO₂). This combination creates synthetic hydrocarbons that can be refined into sustainable fuels for aviation and other sectors. ➡️At CAPHENIA, our process is slightly different and called the Power-and-Biogas-to-Liquid (PBtL) route: We use renewable energy, biogas (methane and carbon dioxide), and water for the production of our green fuels. Through methane pyrolysis and adding CO2 and water, we produce synthesis gas, which is then converted into liquid fuels such as kerosene or diesel via the Fischer-Tropsch process. What makes our process stand out? Our technology 🌿uses six times less renewable energy to produce the same amount of fuels in comparison to typical PtL-processes. 🌿doesn't emit any byproducts. We use all our resources (methane, carbon dioxide, water) to the fullest. 🌿is highly efficient for the production of synthesis gas with an efficiency rate of 86%. 🌿only needs one zone-reactor for the whole process (learn more about our Plasma-Boudouard-Reactor on our website). 🌿doesn't need a catalyst. 🌿is scalable through increasing our reactor volume. 🌍With our innovative take on producing renewable fuels, we will fuel aviation and heavy transportation sectors in the most efficient and greenest way possible. 💪Sounds interesting?   • CAPHENIA hat dies direkt geteilt

    HOLM-Geschäftsführer Michael Kadow empfing gestern den Minister für Wirtschaft, Energie, Verkehr, Wohnen und ländlichen Raum und Stellvertreter des Hessischen Ministerpräsidenten, Kaweh Mansoori, im House of Logistics and Mobility in Frankfurt. Nach einem Austausch über die Arbeit der #HOLM GmbH und aktuelle Entwicklungen in der Logistik- und Mobilitätsbranche besuchten sie gemeinsam eine Auswahl großer, wachsender und junger Akteure aus Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft, die im HOLM ansässig sind. Station machten sie dabei beim Team von Rail-Flow, in der Verkehrszentrale Deutschland der Die Autobahn GmbH des Bundes und auch im Lab der Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, wo der Minister von Forschenden Einblicke in zwei aktuelle Logistikprojekte erhielt. Das Finale des Besuchs fand schließlich im #StartupLab, der Heimat unserer HOLM-eigenen Förderung für Start-ups aus der Logistik- und Mobilitätsbranche, statt. Dort traf Minister Mansoori aus dem Wirtschaftsministerium Hessen Gründer*innen und Vertreter*innen von sechs aktuellen und einem ehemaligen #Startup unseres Förderprogramms und erfuhr aus erster Hand deren Gründungs- und Produktideen. Zur Sprache kamen dabei auch die Herausforderungen, vor denen die jungen Unternehmen derzeit jeweils stehen. Mit dabei waren u. a. Dr. Andreas Waibel von CAPHENIA, Svenja Büsching von der Croowy GmbH, Désirée Schmitz von PIKAPAK® , Maximilian Klyk von Inflabi, Maximilian Wack von HTM - Hydro Technology Motors, Rinku Sharma von Go Kidogo sowie Leonard D. und Nicolas Deike von urbany motors.     Our flight to success hasn't always been smooth. Thanks to everyone who believed in CAPHENIA's technology, including ourselves, we've learned to navigate through turbulence. Today, we stand proudly on our construction site, celebrating our progress and acknowledging all our team members who have paved the way to this moment. When we look back, it’s astonishing how fast and seamlessly our construction phase has advanced. Within less than six months, we have reached the following milestones in our construction plan: ⚡ Shell of the technical facility ⚡ Steel structure ⚡ Office containers Once the reactor arrives, we will be able to install it in the technical facility. In less than a month, our Plasma-Boudouard-Reactor (PBR) will be delivered to our site in the industrial park, Infraserv Höchst. It's an exciting time, so stay tuned for more.

    👥Team-building at its finest! 💡Beyond joint projects and seeing colleagues at work or in Teams meetings, it's essential for all team members to get to know each other and connect outside the workspace. Building trust within our team and among individuals is crucial to our company.     Es war mir eine große Freude, zum zweiten Mobilitätssymposium in Bornheim von Knauber eingeladen worden zu sein und an dieser technologieoffenen Veranstaltung teilzunehmen. Mit Prof. Dr. Pero Mićić von FutureManagementGroup AG, Holger Laugisch von Knauber, Sabine Baumann-Duvenbeck von Viktor Baumann GmbH & Co.KG und Andreas Muendel von DHL über emissionsarme Alternativen zu diskutieren war einsichtsvoll und perspektivenreich. E-Fuels stellen die beste Alternative für den Flug-, Schiffs- und Schwerlastverkehr dar. Diese Sektoren sind schwer zu elektrifizieren und benötigen deshalb andere Lösungen, um die CO2-Emissionen zu reduzieren. Weltweit haben Länder Klimaziele für die Luftfahrt bis 2030 festgelegt, und die Nachfrage nach Sustainable Aviation Fuels (#SAF) wächst stetig. Derzeit deckt das Angebot jedoch nicht den heutigen Bedarf an SAF. Die Nachfrage wird in Zukunft weiter zunehmen, da es sonst keine sinnvolle Alternative für die Dekarbonisierung gibt. Auch im Schiffs- und Schwerlastverkehr sind E-Fuels von großer Bedeutung, da diese Bereiche einen großen Anteil der globalen Emissionen ausmachen und herkömmliche Batterielösungen oft unpraktisch sind. Wir müssen also schnell handeln und das Angebot schaffen, um die anstehenden Klimaziele erreichen zu können. Es war großartig zu sehen, wie vielfältig und innovativ die Zukunft der #Mobilität von der Viktor Baumann GmbH & Co. KG, der Knauber Unternehmensgruppe sowie weiteren Unternehmen aus der Logistikbranche dargestellt wurde. Die Entschlossenheit, die Schwerlastbranche auf einen klimafreundlichen Weg zu führen, ist eine große Herausforderung, aber eine, der wir gemeinsam begegnen müssen und werden.
