We specialize in short term electricity trading to increase efficiency and provide markets with smart price signals.
Info
We believe that traders provide an important and valuable service to energy markets. We do constant and fast-paced analysis on the current state of the electricity grid and provide all actors crucial information through price signals. We act as intermediaries and decision makers who take risks that other actors would like to avoid. We take on this responsibility with decisive caution. We reduce shortages and oversupply by looking ahead. We need volatility to act, however we reduce volatility overall. In order to trade successfully we need fair and open markets. In order to trade fairly with the market we believe in sharing information, failures and victories and yes: the occassional trash talk.

What happens when you put investors, asset owners & developers, consultants, financers, and power traders into one room? Chaos? Genius? From what we learned Wednesday, a bit of both. In the first episode of our event series 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝟮𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲 - we went deep into the battery market’s biggest challenges, opportunities, and, of course, discussed how to turn flexibility into fortune. Special thanks to our speakers Oliver Schmidt for bringing deep insights to battery technology and monetization. The medal of courage goes to Hanns Koenig for burning our Managing Director’s Amani Joas strawman arguments against the value of long-term modelling live on stage 😉 Missed it? No worries. If you're serious about optimizing your battery assets or just want to stay ahead of the game, check out our website: https://lnkd.in/evhCxnAH And @all the battery optimizers out there—stay sharp. We’re just getting started.

German #Energy #Policy: #Election Special Editorial⚡️ With a pivotal #election ahead, energy policy is front and center. It’s complex and full of trade-offs—but let’s get one thing straight: the #energy #transition is non-negotiable. The question is how we do it #efficiently. At FlexPower, we’ve distilled our view into five core theses: 1️⃣ It’s the climate, stupid 🌍 The climate crisis is the reason we’re transitioning. But if we fail on costs and security, no one will follow Germany’s lead. Pragmatism over perfection is key. 2️⃣ Flexibility = Stability 🔄 We've become good at the first phase (renewables rollout), now we need to master flexibility and system integration. That means smart meters, storage, and demand-side shifts—not more subsidies and rigid baseload thinking. 3️⃣ Location, location, location 📍 The #grid isn’t a magical “copper plate.” Regional pricing signals are a must to avoid absurd inefficiencies and out of control #redispatch. 4️⃣ Size matters ⚖️ Rooftop solar and homestorage is nice, but industrial-scale #renewables and #BESS deliver real impact at a fraction of the cost. We can’t power Germany’s industry with feel-good backyard projects. 5️⃣ Freedom at last 🔓 Renewables make us less dependent on autocratic states. Now let’s also free the market: fewer bureaucratic interventions, smarter pricing, and a mature sector that stands on its own. The bottom line? Germany’s energy transition must be #bold but #pragmatic. Ask your politicians the hard questions: 🔹 Does your plan actually cut global CO₂—efficiently? 🔹 Are you solving real grid issues or just pushing for feel-good policies? 🔹 Can we afford it—and will others follow? The stakes are high, and the world is watching. Let’s get this right. 🚀 #EnergyTransition #Germany #Election2025 #Renewables #ClimateAction

Amani Joas speaking about the FlexPower #Upgrid and #Downgrid services: "FlexPower acts as a risk broker both on its asset trading and on its supply business". We structure risk according to our customer needs and with #PowerMatch we are able to deliver standardized wind and solar #PPA from our asset portfolio directly and very cheaply to our industrial customers. To hedge the residual spot position we use virtual battery shapes and therefore provide investment security to battery developers and price stability for offtakers.
Amani Joas is the Managing Director of FlexPower, an energy transition leader based in Germany and part of the CFP Energy group. As part of our E-world energy & water exhibition, Amani and his team showcased the capabilities of FlexPower and the ambitions of the business in the future. If you're looking for a stable supply of renewable power that will help you navigate volatile markets for years to come, get in touch with the Flex team, here: https://lnkd.in/eM_zWtFa
