🧑🎓 New BOZ in Melle – Shaping the Future of Careers 🧑🎓 On March 1st, 2025, the new Berufsorientierungszentrum (BOZ) in Melle was officially opened! This Career Orientation Center offers students a hands-on opportunity to explore various professions and prepare for their future careers in a practical way. 🤲 We are proud to be part of this initiative and will regularly be represented in the "Electro, Energy" experience area with our apprentices and trainers. At our stand, students will have the chance to try their hand at a wiring exercise, providing them with valuable insights into the profession of Industrial Electronics Technician. 🪫💡 The opening event was a great success, with several hundred guests from politics, local government, schools, and participating companies coming together to explore the different experience zones. 🚀 🌕 Moonshots & Money The event was both exhilarating and inspiring. On February 12, 2025, we attended "moonshots & moneten #2," the #StartupSummit in #Paderborn, where we were captivated by innovative start-up concepts. The day was filled with engaging keynotes, panel discussions, and start-up presentations. More than 500 attendees and over 50 pioneering start-ups from the #OstwestfalenLippe region showcased their ideas and business models. 💡 What captivated our interest was: 👉 The keynote address delivered by entrepreneur and investor Janna Ensthaler provided insightful perspectives on the significance of emerging technologies and the opportunities available for German companies and start-ups. 👉 The OWL Start-up Pitch, where start-ups seeking investment showcased their ideas and business models for the tenth time, highlighted the offerings of the #OstwestfalenLippe region. 👉 The NRW Future Tech Pitch showcased the most innovative start-ups from the universities of North Rhine-Westphalia as they competed against one another. Furthermore, visiting the Space Lounge proved to be highly enriching, presenting stimulating ideas and networking opportunities - engaging coffee discussions quickly ensued. The open workshops and guided tours of the Maker Space, where we explored the various prototyping machines, constituted a successful supplementary program! 🌱 Initiative for sustainability and nature conservation – donation handed over 🤝 A special initiative emerged from participation in this year's #Stadtradeln: In total, an impressive 5,800 kilometers were cycled by employees of the CiTEX Holding GmbH. #CiTEX did not miss the opportunity to convert the kilometers cycled into a donation of 1,500 euros for the Stiftung für Ornithologie und Naturschutz (SON). Kathrin Kröger recently handed over the donation to Volker Tiemeyer, a member of the foundation's board. This was followed by an interesting tour of the species protection house, during which numerous projects of the foundation for the protection of biodiversity and nature conservation were presented. Particularly noteworthy are: 🌱 Exhibitions on the subject of species protection, including projects for the integration of nesting sites into building and house facades. 🌱 Practical species conservation work with school classes from 17 Meller schools, where students actively build nesting boxes and deal with the topics of nature and species conservation. 🌱 Observation opportunities via a roof terrace from which animals can be observed in their natural environment. The foundation also pursues important projects in the region, such as planning to acquire additional areas and to plant and design them in accordance with species protection aspects. These measures are crucial for regional species protection. The donation will make a valuable contribution to this. It is also worth mentioning that the foundation does not have traditional members, but relies on voluntary support.
