Ein guter Beirat ist ein Game Changer für Euer Startup. Ein schlechter Beirat ist reine Energieverschwendung. Es hat mich sehr gefreut, dass unser Panel zum Thema "How to Create a Successful Advisory Board" so viel positives Feedback erhalten hat. Inspiriert bzw. schamlos kopiert von Dorothea von Wichert-Nick, hier die wichtigsten Take-Aways 😋 : 1️⃣ 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝗽: 𝗢𝗵𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝗵𝘁 𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁. • Stellt sicher, dass ihr so viele Gründer-Sitze bekommt wie möglich. Bei Ryte kamen auf 3 Investoren, 2 Gründer. • Ergänzt Euren Beirat um eine neutrale Chair-Person oder einen Board Observer, der das Management des Beirats übernimmt und mit seiner starken Persönlichkeit ein Bindeglied zwischen Euch und den Investoren ist. • Seid sorgfältig bei der Formulierung der Entscheidungsrechte. So True: Ich erlebe immer wieder Startups, denen in der Krise wesentliche Entscheidungskompetenzen fehlen und die dann dem Wohl und Wehe ihres investorengetriebenen Beirats ausgesetzt sind. 2️⃣ 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘄𝗮𝗵𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗮̈𝘁𝗲: 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀. • 𝘞𝘦𝘯𝘯 𝘋𝘶 𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘵 𝘮𝘪𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘳𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘴𝘵: 𝘈𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘯. Unternehmenskrisen haben keinen 8-5 Arbeitstag. • Der neutrale Beirats-Chair sollte zusätzliche einen Beratungsvertrag bekommen - mindestens 1-2 Tage im Monat. • Einmal im Jahr hinterfragen: Haben wir alle notwendigen Kompetenzen im Beirat? Wen müssten wir ersetzen? 3️⃣ 𝗔𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗺𝗼𝗱𝘂𝘀: 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘁. • Gute Modus: ein Meeting pro Quartal. Alles, was dichter ist, wird zu aufwändig. • Vorbereitung: Präsentation mit gutem Vorlauf zum Meeting erstellen. Präsentation mit jedem Beirat einzeln durchgehen - dort vor allem Fokus auf Reporting. • Im Boardmeeting: Fokus auf 5-7 echte Diskussionsthemen. Beiratsmeetings sind dann gut, wenn Euch der Beirat hilft, kritische Unternehmensfragen zu klären. Reportingschlachten sind reine Zeitverschwendung.
