ConcR | Smart Monitoring hat dies direkt geteilt
I had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Masatoshi Sakairi from Hokkaido University and Ryosuke SAITO from Shimizu Corporation to Berlin and to our office. Shimizu Corporation and Hokkaido University are collaborating on an exciting innovation: the Direct Air Capture (DAC) coating for concrete. This cutting-edge solution enhances the natural carbonation process of concrete, all while protecting it from aggressive ions. Essentially, it tackles two challenges at once – concrete captures more CO2 from the atmosphere and becomes more durable in the process. During our meeting, we dove deep into the details of how to integrate ConcR | Smart Monitoring's carbonation sensors with the DAC coating. It’s been a while since I’ve faced such technically challenging questions, and it was incredibly rewarding. But the highlight of the day was seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces when we realized we have the potential to make a significant impact—both for the planet and for concrete market. We now have a clear path forward, and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s next. A special thanks to Daisuke Kato and Invest in Kobe for making these introductions possible!
