Hey, Hey, Hey It's Wednesday and it is time for you to discover yet another amazing community at work. Where are we taking you today? It's a "London Calling" 🇬🇧 kind of day :) Earlier this year, we had the chance to visit a mixed-used space called Batch.space and it was incredible! Located in East London, this former canteen of the Hackney Depot Building has been converted by Milo Mcloughlin-Greening and his team into a multi-purpose space that brings together: - a coworking space - a maker space - private offices - and a beautiful and bright event space But what we love the most about it is to discover how pretty much everything was made WITH the community. From the design to the different types of amenities and services offered, everything exists to answer the needs of members, starting with Milo himself. Aside from running a coworking space, Milo and his team also run Batch.Works "A circular manufacturing company changing the way we make products". We had the chance to tour around their lab and saw, for instance, the mono-material piling comb made from a bio-material that they designed for the sustainable fashion brand Sheep Inc. In this latest deep-dive, we looked at what rural coworking spaces are by definition as well as why they are so important to rural local economies. Because we know that setting up coworking spaces in rural and remote areas presents many challenges, we introduced, in our summer case study, 3 amazing examples that are driving a positive change in their (rural) region of the world. It's Tuesday, which means it's time for a selfie story 😎 Who's in the spotlight today? A flex brand from London that we love called Spacemade What's special about it? But what we particularly love about Spacemade is their team ❤️ At Coworkies we strongly believe that great teams make great coworking spaces, the Spacemade team has shown us that on many occasions already. Simone, whom you see in the selfie here, is the Head of Community for the brand. During one of our encounters, she shared with us how the work carried by the community team revolves around supporting their members in the best way they can. Not all regions of the world are familiar with what 'coworking' is. Different markets are at different maturity levels, with some having many coworking spaces everywhere and others having 1 or 2. What happens when you are among the first to bring coworking to your region of the world?
