The CheckStar Multi is part of our inline rotary transducer range and commonly connects to a data collector via a cable. However, the transducer is also able to connect wirelessly via radio frequency by combining with the RFm adaptor. This allows the transducer to be used further away from the data collector but stay connected and communicating. The RFm can also store up to 200 readings so if the transducer happens to go out of range, the readings will be saved for when connection is re-established. Crane Electronics stationary transducers are available with the option to have a light ring built into the unit. This is the perfect option for a tool testing station with multiple transducers included. When a transducer has been selected to test a tool, the light ring will illuminate, showing the user which transducer they need to use to test the tool. This helps to avoid any damage being done to the tool or transducer. We’ve previously explored what a ‘soft joint’ is. Now it’s time to explore ‘hard’ joints and their applications. Hard joints, typically used in assemblies with strong materials like steel and aluminium (e.g. metal to metal contact), provide a high level of precision. The rigid metals offer a level of resistance, allowing the fastener to secure the joint to the correct torque with minimal rotation, ensuring precise and accurate results. Find out more about where they are used in industry and how they work in our latest blog post at https://bit.ly/3Z1ZiYp #torque #fasteners #assembly #qualitycontrol #manufacturing

Did you know that the TorqueStar Pro can not only store results in its internal memory, but it can also export them to a USB stick and a PC. By exporting results, they can be stored and analysed in Crane’s OMS and OMS Lite torque management software packages. The AutoPrint option is also available, which exports a reading to an external output immediately. This can be paired with Crane’s Readings Capture software to create a graph of results in real time. Ever wondered why ensuring the correct torque levels is so crucial in assembly applications? Using too little torque can cause fasteners to come loose, leading to potential catastrophic failures, while over-torquing can damage fasteners and weaken the assembly or structure. That's where soft torque joints come in! These specially designed joints offer flexibility and adaptability, making them perfect for dealing with shocks, vibrations and other dynamic loads. Want to learn more about how they work and where to use them? Check out our latest blog post at https://bit.ly/46Iy5eO #torque #fasteners #assembly #qualitycontrol #manufacturing
