🚀 On Tuesday, we kicked off the second phase of Tech & Spaces project with "Connecting the Dots". Thanks to all participants and partners for this insightful afternoon! Interesting key take-aways emerged from the panel discussion and the subsequent workshops: 🤚 Accessibility of regulations: Current regulations for sharing workshops and #deeptech #technologies need to be more accessible to facilitate co-creation. 🌀 The circular economy needs a center for innovation: Establishing a Living Lab for Circular Economy in #Adlershof would be a valuable step to showcase technology-related solutions and foster #innovation in this field. 📍 Mapping of offers and networks regarding Circular Economy: Only if we make ideas, spaces, resources and stakeholders relevant to Circular Economy visible to potential users can they be used and networks formed. 🚀 Join us for the kick-off workshop of our ‘Tech&Spaces for Circular Economy’ series on 8th October at the Adlershof Technology Park! With the project 'Tech and Spaces for Circular Economy' we support the implementation of circular economy practices through technological advancements, spaces for experimentation, and the promotion of interfaces and spillovers to other locations and industry sectors. We look forward to inspiring keynotes and hands-on workshops: 🎤 Keynote Speakers: Steffen Terberl (CEO of the “Berliner Zukunftsorte”) will present on "Technology sites as an ecosystem of innovation" exploring how these locations foster collaboration and innovation. Ronja Scholz (Circular Design Researcher, Fraunhofer IZM) will discuss the "Potential of Optic, Photonics, and Material technologies for the circular economy" highlighting their role in promoting sustainable practices. 💡 We will work together on the following topics: 1) "Understanding the Landscape: Circular Economy, Sectoral Perspectives and Challenges" In this workshop, we will map existing networks, resources, and practices within the Circular Economy across various sectors. 2) "The Role of Resources and Technology in the Circular Economy" We’ll gather experiences, discuss previous challenges, and define what’s needed to make technology a driving force in Circular Economy. 3) "The Role of Infrastructure and Space in a Circular Economy" Participants will explore past challenges and infrastructural requirements to help design circular and resilient spaces. Was passiert eigentlich aktuell im ländlichen Raum? Die Kreislaufwirtschaft spielt eine entscheidende Rolle für die nachhaltige Transformation. Doch bisher wird ihr Potenzial in ländlichen Regionen noch zu wenig genutzt. Mit der Förderinitiative "Circular Rural Regions" soll das nun geändert werden! Danke an das Bundesministerium für Wohnen, Stadtentwicklung und Bauwesen, BBSR und alle Stakeholder für den wertvollen Austausch zur Umsetzung der Territorialen Agenda 2030 und der nationalen Kreislaufwirtschaftsstrategie. Bei Creative Climate Cities stehen Themen wie räumliche Wirkungen, Wissenstransfer, Wirkungsmessung im Fokus. Besonders spannend waren daher:  1. Die Einblicke zur österreichischen Kreislaufwirtschaftsstrategie, die auf die Aktivierung der Gesellschaft setzt und das schon mit dem Titel klar macht. Martin Traxl 2. Die Einführung quantitativer Ziele und eines digitalen Monitorings, um Umsetzungslücken sichtbar zu machen. Wir blicken gespannt auf die Entwicklungen. Sina Redlich 3. Und natürlich der Austausch mit den Modellregionen wie Chiemgau GmbH

Photonics and Materials Innovation for Circular Economy Circular strategies like resource-efficient hashtag #design, #production, #repair, #refurbishment, #remanufacturing, #recycling often face technical and physical challenges, making them costly and difficult. However, breakthroughs in optics, photonics, and material sciences (OPM) are unlocking new possibilities for enhancing industrial processes. We invite experts in OPM to join us for the launch of the “Tech and Spaces for Circular Economy” project on 08.10.2024 at 12:30 in LeapQuantum Technology Hub. We're thrilled to share the impactful outcomes of our recent workshop with the community of Zeuthen, where we supported efforts to tackle heat stress and other extreme weather events while striving to meet the ambitious goal of reducing greenhouse gases by 65% by 2030. 🚀 Last week, dedicated citizens of this 12,000-strong community south of Berlin came together to explore and develop actionable solutions. Through our guided workshop, we collaboratively crafted three concrete measures focused on energy, housing, and mobility. A huge shoutout to all the dedicated participants who brought their ideas and passion to the table. Your commitment to making Zeuthen a resilient and sustainable community is truly commendable. Die Berliner Industrie befindet sich aktuell auf einem spannenden Weg der Transformation!   Auf der Veranstaltung MPI Deep Dive Circular Economy der Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe wurden innovative Ansätze aus der Praxis des zirkulären Bauens vorgestellt. Thomas Pfau (Glasfischer), Florian Strähle (Strähle Raum-Systeme GmbH), Rebekka Steinlein (Concular), TRIQBRIQ, ecoLocked.   Passend zum Thema fand die Veranstaltung auf dem Modell-Campus ringberlin statt, wo ein ganzheitlicher Ansatz bei der Modernisierung und denkmalgerechten Erweiterung der Fabrikhallen zu einem resilienten Campus der Zukunft mit Maker-Space und Gründerzentrum umgesetzt wird (KOIMO). Besonders spannend: Neben zirkulären Baustoffen fanden auch räumliche Aspekte Erwähnung. Für eine erfolgreiche Transformation braucht es nämlich auch: 🏢 Räume, an denen Bedarfe und Lösungen zusammenfinden 🔧 Werkstätten zur Testung und Verprobung 🌳 Aufenthaltsqualitäten & Grünflächen 🚉 Gute ÖPNV-Anbindungen für Mitarbeitende 🤝 Austauschorte und Netzwerke   Mit unserem MPI-Projekt "Tech & Spaces for Circular Economy" wollen wir das Verständnis über die Standortbedingungen Berliner Unternehmen fördern und erforderliche Infrastrukturen hervorheben, die material-, energie- und ressourcenarme Wirtschafts- und Forschungsaktivitäten begünstigen. Zeit, sich mit den Projektleiterinnen Chantal Schöpp (Creative Climate Cities) und Dina Padalkina (Circular Berlin) zu vernetzen.

"How can we use municipal data to improve people's quality of life? - It is inspiring to see German municipalities coming together to seek this answer through nationwide progress with digital solutions. People from different cities are exchanging ideas and fostering a community for a new collaborative future in urban planning! It's wonderful to connect not only data but also people to explore together whether the future of urban planning lies in data integration or virtual simulation. Do our cities need both - an urban data platform and a #digitaltwin - for collaborative planning efficiency? Great discussions at the workshop during the #MPSC Congress in Leipzig with Jessica Voth and Nadine Kuhla von Bergmann, in collaboration with #FraunhoferIESE Sven Storck, and many thanks to the #CityofLeipzig for sharing their newly opened #SmartCityLab Sebastian Böhm with the Taskforce for #UrbanDigitalTwin.
