Governments around the world are increasingly recognizing the transformative power of AI, advanced analytics, and data-driven processes to optimize decision-making, improve service delivery, and increase operational efficiency. The “Project Showcases – Data Science in Government” - Project organized by the Data Innovation Lab offers a platform for governments, multilateral organizations, development agencies, civil society organizations as well as academia to share innovative data science projects across areas like governance, security, crisis management, climate action, and more.
While we welcome contributions from all 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗮, we particularly encourage 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 to submit their applications.

The 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 31 𝗠𝗮𝘆 2025, with proposals being reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis until then. Submitters will be notified of the selection outcome and next steps within two weeks after submission. After the application is accepted, participants will be invited to submit a 10-minute video showcasing their Data Science in Government Project.
Selected projects will be featured on our website and YouTube channel, contributing to an 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻-𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 designed to inspire others and promote innovative solutions globally. For more details and to check out existing Project Showcase examples click here: https://lnkd.in/evMH3x49

(1) What the project is about
(2) How data science was utilized in its implementation
(3) Key outcomes, lessons learned, and opportunities for scaling or replication.
