Making the batteries life cycle sustainable. 🔋 In line with the goal to reach full climate neutrality by 2050, the new batteries regulation for the EU entered into force in all member states in August 2023. Manufacturers are facing challenges in implementing the regulation. To fulfill certain requirements, a notified third party assessment body must conduct a verification. DEKRA will become a notified body in the future and will thus support manufacturers in navigating this process. Commitment to climate protection: DEKRA climate targets in line with 1.5 °C We are pleased that the DEKRA climate targets have been successfully validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)! SBTi is an initiative that supports companies in setting emission reduction targets based on scientific evidence in accordance with the Paris Climate Agreement. With this, DEKRA commits to the goal of limiting the global temperature increase to 1.5°C. DEKRA joined the "Business Ambition for 1.5°C" in 2021, a global initiative of the United Nations Global Compact, the Science Based Targets initiative, and the We Mean Business Coalition. The climate target validated by the SBTi is a further milestone for DEKRA's climate strategy and underlines the company's ongoing commitment to greater climate and environmental protection. Our path to a sustainable future lies in the adoption of renewable energies.
