Mannheim International Toastmasters Club Goals - Theme of Mannheim International Toastmasters Meeting of June 25, 2024 Our President Alexya Azhakesan open the meeting in her usual warm way. She greeted our one guest, Alex, who was here for the second time. She then invited us to a go-around, asking us to briefly mention one thing we love and one thing we hate.......a great warm-up for us all. Our Toastmaster of the Evening, Valentin, introduced the meeting theme of goals, emphasizing that it is goals that give us direction in life. The word of the day was given by Gabi: holy grail, which means an especially important goal. Timon Kabisch told a true funny story from his childhood, where his kid brother quickly served himself all the special cookies on a plate. When Timon asked if he didn't think that the others might want some of those cookies, his brother smiled and replied: "yeah, that's why you have to be quick" 😂 For the thought of the day, Gabi told how her daughter dealt with a school challenge and reached an important goal. Timon then gave an Educational Moment. He shared three points which he learned from his last speech (which didn't go a well as he had wished). Alexya led the Table Topics with questions concerning goals. ............................................................................................... After the break we had three prepared speeches. Speaker 1 was Poorana with the project Presentation Mastery #4-1 - Managing a Difficult Audience. Speaker 2 was Alexya, and her project was: Visionary Communication #5-1 - Develop Your Vision - 1. Jeff was her Evaluator and praised her lively and passionate delivery. Speaker 3 was Jennifer, who gave her Icebreaker. Her Evaluator Gabi underlined how powerful her message was, and gave examples how Jennifer crossed boundaries to reach new goals. Our General Evaluator Oliver then got the reports from the Grammarian (Hannah), Ah-counter (Hannah again), and then gave his short feedback to all the roles and the meeting as a whole. Alexya announced the winners from tonight: TTs - Jeff / Eval - Jeff / best speech - Alexya. This meeting ends the current Toastmaster year, and Alexya thanked her leadership team for their service to the club. She then named the team for the coming year and wished them well for their term. Please join us for our next meeting on July 9th (online meeting). Here is a photo of the meeting: Best Toastmaster greetings, Jeff Gordon Mannheim Int. Toastmasters

2021 World Champion of Public Speaking, Presenting Coach, MC, Accredited Speaker. Activating Improved Communication, Optimism and Innovation in organisations
A huge high five to the 28 Semi Finalists of the Toastmasters International #internationalspeechcontest!!! I'm so excited for all of them and know how surreal it is to hear you're through to this level of the contest! My advice? * Don't waste a second! * Act as if you'll make the finals * Write a second speech that is the message you want to share with the world * Ask for feedback and be open to change * Practice in different countries to see if your message comes across * Work with a coach / mentor * Watch previous winning speeches and see what makes the difference * Treat this like you're going to the Olympics of speaking 🏆 Most of all, embrace the privilege of feeling this pressure. Only 28 people get to feel this each year. Lean into it and let it help you deliver diamond quality speeches!

Mannheim International Toastmasters Club Dear Toastmasters, The TM Year 2023-2024 will end tomorrow and we finish this year with a "Select Distinguished" status. Lagging behind only in the educational goals, we have done a great job by adding an incredible number of 10 new members this year. A big thank you to Alexya, Nadine, the entire officers team and all the members for your support and active participation this year. I wish that next year will be as exciting as this year and our goal is to reach the President's Distinguished status. Gabi and Nadine will lead our club as President and VPE respectively in the TM year 2024-2025. Wish you all a lot more fun and learning in our meetings. Cheers! Poorana
