🏫 Project Update: Renovation of Nicolas Untersteller College 🛠️ After 50+ years, the Nicolas Untersteller College in Stiring-Wendel, France, is being transformed to meet today’s standards! While reducing its footprint to serve fewer students, only Building A’s concrete and steel structure remains, with sustainable extensions added. The project highlights energy efficiency, featuring innovative timber facades by Le Bras Frères and intelligent building systems. Modeled in RFEM 6, this renovation is a blend of heritage and eco-responsibility. The renovation prioritizes sustainability: Building A’s original concrete and steel structure is retained, lowering CO₂ emissions by 25% compared to a complete rebuild. Timber facades designed by Le Bras Frères will enhance energy efficiency, along with modern tech like smart management systems, sheep wool insulation, and solar power. This project balances heritage with eco-friendly innovation. 👉 https://bit.ly/3Uqaj2z #SustainableRenovation #TimberDesign #RFEM6 #LeBrasFreres #EcoFriendlyBuilding #Dlubal

💡 Wind Load Simulation for High-Rise Buildings 🌬️ Wind loads are a critical factor in the structural design of high-rise buildings, especially with irregular shapes that create complex wind patterns. CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) allows engineers to simulate and predict wind effects, providing crucial data for designing safer, more energy-efficient structures. This ensures that iconic high-rises not only stand out visually but also meet performance standards, improving safety, comfort, and environmental impact. ℹ️ https://bit.ly/3KP6Xie #Highrisedesign #Windload #CFDsimulation #Structuralsafety #Energyefficiency #Architecturaldesign

🔴 Introducing something extraordinary this morning – a major milestone in the development of the Steel Joints add-on. 📣 Semi-Rigid Hinges with Initial Stiffness Analysis in Steel Joints Add-On 🔩 The Steel Joints add-on for RFEM 6 introduces semi-rigid hinges, significantly enhancing the modeling of steel connections in structural analysis. This capability allows engineers to move beyond traditional rigid or hinged assumptions, offering a more accurate representation of joint behavior. By simulating joint stiffness through initial stiffness analysis, the design process becomes more realistic and optimized for safety and cost-efficiency. Previously, engineers faced limitations with rigid or fully hinged joints, which seldom reflect actual steel connection behavior. The introduction of semi-rigid hinges provides a third option, enabling more precise analysis of forces and stresses in a structure. How It Works: Semi-Rigid Hinges in RFEM 6 🔍 The semi-rigid hinges feature integrates into the global model prior to internal force calculations, automatically generating connections that reflect real stiffness conditions. This streamlines the design process, allowing engineers to focus on overall structure design without manual stiffness input. By accurately accounting for partial stiffness, engineers gain valuable insights into how structures will behave under various loads, resulting in more efficient designs that optimize material usage. Why Semi-Rigid Hinges Matter for Your Projects 💡 This level of accuracy is crucial for complex projects, where joint behavior significantly impacts safety. Many designs mistakenly assume fully hinged joints, potentially leading to unanticipated moment forces and structural issues. Semi-rigid hinges allow engineers to simulate these moments accurately, enhancing safety and reducing the need for conservative designs. Additionally, RFEM 6's ability to calculate the initial stiffness of multiple connections across the entire structure—rather than just one joint—sets it apart from other software that may focus solely on individual connections. This comprehensive analysis helps optimize material use, load distribution, and safety standards. Innovation that Empowers Your Projects 🚀 Incorporating semi-rigid hinges ensures that your designs are structurally sound and optimized for performance and cost-efficiency. RFEM 6’s capability to analyze multiple connections enhances its status as an "all-in-one software" solution, empowering engineers to tackle complex challenges with precision and design safer, more efficient structures. #StructuralEngineering #SteelConnections #SemiRigidHinges #RFEM6 #StructuralDesign
