The 14th Shenzhen International Connector, CableWiring & Processing Machinery Exhibition (ICH) 2024 was a blast! Our trainees in Malta: For several years now, our industrial clerk trainees have had the opportunity to take part in an Erasmus programme in cooperation with their vocational school, gaining valuable work experience in an international context and improving their language skills. The programme takes them abroad for 3-4 weeks. While last year's programme took them to Ireland, this year's destination was Malta. Our industrial clerk trainee Fabian Fastermann reports on his time in Malta: “As part of my training to become an industrial clerk at DSG-Canusa in #Rheinbach, I had the fantastic opportunity to work in #Malta for a month. This program aimed to improve my English skills and gain international work experience. During my stay, I worked at a Maltese company. This experience was incredibly enriching, as I was not only able to apply and improve my English skills but also gain insights into the operations of an international company. The colleagues were very friendly and helpful, and I learned a lot about #Maltese business culture. Besides work, I also had the opportunity to explore the island. Malta is known for its stunning coastlines, historical sites, and the crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea. On weekends and after work, I visited places like the Blue Grotto, the ancient temples of Ħaġar Qim, and the capital city Valletta. These excursions provided a nice break from the work routine and a deeper connection to Malta's culture and history. My time in Malta not only improved my language skills but also expanded my understanding of intercultural collaboration. I learned the importance of flexibility and openness in the international business environment. Overall, I was able to gain many valuable experiences and insights. In summary, the month in Malta was an unforgettable experience that was extremely enriching both personally and professionally. I am grateful for the support from DSG-Canusa, which made this amazing experience possible. I would also like to thank my vocational school, the Friedrich-List-Berufskolleg, for the financial support.
