Our CEO Dr. Mario Schmitt has written a review on the need for carbon removal in the construction sector including best practices to ensure that you are really contributing to climate change mitigation. ➡ Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/dDViRDy8 #ecoLocked #insetting #CarbonRemoval #Biochar #Concrete

Now I finally found the time and I‘m quite proud of the result. 🌍 When you work in impact, additionality is the single most important concept to judge your success by. (Why) is my solution needed? What would the world look like if it did not exist? And what if it was used at global scale? Actually, every company should reflect on these questions. 💡In a sector like carbon removal, that‘s true all the more. Sector-specific climate pathways, interdependencies with emission reduction, permanence of storage, carbon markets, offsetting and insetting….all highly complex topics, characterized by lots of uncertainties. That makes for a heated discussion with many different opinions. So, I took some time to read articles, gather expert opinions, and review hypotheses and scenarios based on real-world customer situations. All the while trying to keep it short and simple (partially achieved I'd say). 🤝 Here‘s to hoping that this article can foster a better understanding of CDR's potential to complement emission reduction and provide guidance on how to validate your investment's contribution to climate change mitigation! Note: while I tried to remain as objective as possible, naturally, ecoLocked‘s model serves as the primary case in point - otherwise, we wouldn’t be doing what we are doing. Thanks a ton for your contributions Riccardo Ambrosini, Giorgio Ponte and Sepanta Golchin! ➡️ Link to article in the comments What are your opinions on the matter?
