🎌 BIG BIG NEWS: ecoro selected for a Landmark Project in Japan! 🎌 We are beyond excited to announce that ecoro has officially been selected as a participant in Japan’s Autoflow Road Project! This groundbreaking initiative will establish a 540 km automated freight corridor between Osaka and Tokyo. 😯 Japan is facing a major infrastructure crisis - by 2035, the country predicts a potential collapse of its transportation system: a severe driver shortage, an aging society, and estimates suggest that one out of three packages may go undelivered. The need for solutions is urgent - not in the future, but today... ‼️ Led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, this project will redefine automated logistics and transform the future of freight mobility. Through a rigorous selection process, ecoro was chosen as the ONLY non-Japanese company. WHAT AN HONOR! This recognition highlights once again how relevant our vision and technology is for the future of logistics. 🙏 So, what are the next steps? 🤝 Public-Private Collaboration: We will actively contribute to the formation of the Public-Private Council and plan to nominate a Tokyo-based, Japanese-speaking ecoro representative to engage with MLIT and key stakeholders. 🌍 Localization & Strategic Partnerships: To ensure maximum impact, we have launched a localization study and are in discussions with major Japanese firms for strategic partnerships. Our goal is to contribute to the local ecosystem. This effort is paving the way for a test facility by Q1 2027, for which we will complete all necessary preparations by the end of 2026. With an impressive background in robotic simulation and digital twin development, Billy brings expertise in ROS, AI, embedded systems, and industrial automation—a powerful combination for driving innovation in robotics. Beyond his technical expertise, Billy's academic journey is truly inspiring - he holds four master's degrees in fields that push the boundaries of robotics and automation. His experience in SLAM, sensor integration, predictive maintenance, and real-time embedded control makes him a fantastic addition to our team. The first impression of Rupert’s smart and open character was so positive that we were eager to arrange an in-person meeting, and there’s no other way to put it – the spark was there. Rupert impressed us with his extensive experience and expertise in the technology and automation sector, making it clear that we absolutely wanted him on board. That’s why we are thrilled to announce today that Rupert will be joining us as our new CTO 🎉 – a decision that brings another crucial puzzle piece into place for the growth of ecoro. Rupert will lead our technical development and contribute his vast experience as the founder of Magway.    At this point, we would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our outgoing CTO, Felix Schuster, for his tireless dedication. Felix continues to support our vehicle development while stepping back from day-to-day operations. ecoro is expanding into Saudi Arabia! 🇸🇦 💥 Last week, our CEO, Daniel Daum, traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to lay the groundwork for our first international subsidiary. Daniel's trip coincided with two major events, providing invaluable opportunities to connect with industry leaders and explore the dynamic Saudi tech landscape: 1. LEAP 2025 Exhibition LEAP, the world's most attended tech event, showcased the Kingdom's impressive $14.9 billion USD in new technology investment announcements. This year's event boasted over 200,000 attendees, 1,500 exhibitors, and 1,000 expert speakers, solidifying its position as a leading force in the global tech scene. Key announcements included partnerships between Groq and aramco digital, Lenovo and Alat, and Google's plans for a global AI hub in Saudi Arabia. These developments underscore the Kingdom's dedication to technological advancement and create a fertile ground for innovation. 2. PIF Private Sector Forum 2025: Collaboration and Growth We were honored to attend the PIF Private Sector Forum, a key event for fostering collaboration and exploring investment opportunities.
