Die Fahrzeuge mit den TIM361 (rotes und grünes AMR) navigieren autonom in einem industriellen Umfeld. 𝐑𝐞𝐁𝐞𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐭 RoboCup 2024 - Eindhoven In spring, we had the honor to host the RoboCupJunior. Scientists and pupils compete with their developments in robotics, AI, informatics, electrical and mechanical engineering. Around 100 young people aged 11 to 17 years joined the competition on a regional level. This week, the international version takes place in Eindhoven, connecting people from 45 countries. 300 teams participate in five exciting leagues: RoboCupSoccer, RoboCupRescue, RoboCup@Home, RoboCupJunior, and RoboCup Industrial. There is no such an event without the ReBeL Cobot. Our partner EduArt Robotik brought fancy accessories for the robot—for instance, a camera with an integrated AI chip on its circuit board. The camera is high-speed and saves energy. I keep my fingers crossed for Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm and the team of THN AutonOhm. Visit us this week at the RoboCup 2024 - Eindhoven, we are from today until 21.7. in the Eureka hall at booth 14. You can either pick up a flyer for our R&D robot 'Eduard' or our @work platform 'Arthur' or a brochure about our company, have pens personalised with your name or let our Eduard robot drive with the PS5 controller or your mobile phone in the hall. You can also visit us if you need 3D printed parts or find out about our self-designed circuit boards. We will also have our new Kinematic Kit on site, which allows you to build your own robot - either with up to 4 large motors or up to 8 small motors, depending on your needs. RoboCup 2024 news from the @work team, day 2 The day started quite early again and half of the team was either not well rested or slightly ill. Nonetheless, we had a lot planned and got a lot done. First and foremost, we had the problem of the defective underbody lighting yesterday, which we fixed today. We soldered a new test board for this because it's difficult to get to the Teensy 4.0 and tested the hardware to find out what the problem was. Subsequently, the problem was searched for on the software side, also without success. Only to finally realise that the USB cable was the problem ... Frustrating and awesome at the same time, because now it works as it should. As a thank you to Ωmeg4, we also got new, plotted stickers and thus a chicer design. We also designed and printed new object trays, repaired the 3D printer and prepared the AprilTag cubes for the competition, even though we probably won't need them. We fixed bugs for our neural network for object recognition and optimised it so that Ωmeg4 compares all recognised objects and tries to grab the object with the highest confidence. About our still existing arm problem: Currently we have communication problems between the @Igus arm driver and our arm controller, which we have improved a lot today, but we are still struggling with sporadic bugs. The problem is that these are hardly reproducible and therefore make troubleshooting impossible. At the same time, we are also working on an alternative solution, the implementation of the MoveIt interface, as this would also allow us to access the Shelve quite easily. As far as the navigation is concerned and the still existing overshooting of the robot, we have written a new node so that the robot slows down accordingly when approaching the workstations and thus get the overshooting under control. Last but not least, our new team members familiarised themselves with their referee tasks and studied the rules so that we are well prepared for the first competition tomorrow, the BMT. Among the photos this time is the layout of our current arena, where all the challenges take place. At the BMT tomorrow, the robot has to pick up objects from one workstation and place them back on the workstation next to it. The main focus is to demonstrate basic object recognition and manipulation capabilities of robots. As always, we will keep you up to date.
