PLASMA GERMANY auf den ZVO-Oberflächentagen 2024 in Leipzig https://lnkd.in/d8XTx2A Das Expertennetzwerk PLASMA GERMANY präsentierte sich im Rahmen der Herbstsitzung auf den ZVO-Oberflächentagen. Diese Tagung wird vom ZVO | Zentralverband Oberflächentechnik e.V. organisiert und befasst sich mit Themen rund um die Oberflächentechnik. Ein besonderer Fokus lag auf Technologien im Bereich Galvanotechnik, Korrosionsschutz, Wasserstofftechnologien, Kunststoffmetallisierung und Themen rund um Nachhaltigkeit. Aber auch viele weitere Themen rund um die Oberfläche fanden Beachtung. In Kooperation mit der DGO | Deutsche Gesellschaft für Galvano- und Oberflächentechnik e.V. sowie INNOVENT e.V. Technologieentwicklung Jena und der Europäischen Forschungsgesellschaft Dünne Schichten e. V. EFDS konnten gemeinsam Plasmatechnologien auf der Veranstaltung präsentiert werden. Neben einem Ausstellungsstand, der über das Netzwerk und Fortbildungsmöglichkeiten informierte, wurde eine Session zum Thema Plasmatechnologien durchgeführt. Vom atmosphärischen Plasma, über Plasmaspritzen, Plasmapolieren und Plasma-gestützte Vakuumbeschichtung konnte ein breites Anwendungsfeld der Plasmen vorgestellt werden. Einen herzlichen Dank für die die sehr gute Organisation und die Möglichkeit zur Vorstellung möchten wir nochmals an Herrn Christoph Matheis, ZVO e. V. sowie Herrn Daniel Meyer, DGO e. V. richten. EFDS-Mitgliederversammlung in Erfurt schließt sich an die #PSE2024 an Am 5. September 2024 kamen 53 Teilnehmer zur jährlichen Mitgliederversammlung zusammen. Wir danken Prof. Dr. Kirsten Bobzin, RWTH Aachen University und Prof. Dr. Andreas Leson, Fraunhofer IWS für ihr langjähriges Engagement für die European Society of Thin Films, die als Vorstandsmitglieder verabschiedet wurden. Ebenfalls wurde Prof. Dr. Andre Anders, Leibniz Institute of Surface Engineering (IOM) als langjähriges Beiratsmitglied verabschiedet. Im Rahmen der Mitgliederversammlung wurden Prof. Dr. Elizabeth von Hauff, Fraunhofer FEP, zur stellvertrenden Vorstandsvorsitzenden sowie Michael Jacob, Kontron AIS GmbH in den Vorstand des EFDS e.V. gewählt. Wir freuen uns auf die gemeinsame konstruktive Zusammenarbeit im Sinne unserer Mitglieder und der Dünnschichtbranche im Allgemeinen. Als Neumitglieder wurden die Unternehmen AMT - Technischer Vertrieb, ELEMENT 3-5 GmbH, GPA Ges. für Plasma Applikation mbH, Megatech Group, neoplas control GmbH, Plasmateria GmbH, Umicore, voestalpine eifeler Vacotec GmbH - eifeler, WIKA Gruppe Alexander Wiegand SE & Co. Last Thursday, many participants attended the last day of #PSE2024. The Early Career Awards were presented in the Award Session. Third place went to Dr Honglong Che, Dalian University, China. Second place was awarded to Dr Luka Hansen, Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, Germany. First place went to Dr Marcus Hans, RWTH Aachen University, Materials Chemistry, Germany. The PSE Leading Scientist Award went to Prof Dr Andre Anders - CEO of the Leibniz Institute of Surface Engineering (IOM) Leipzig, Germany, who is internationally recognised for his outstanding work. Many thanks for the dignified presentation to Prof Dr Michael Thomas, Fraunhofer IST, Chairman of EJC/PISE. We would like to take this opportunity to once again express our appreciation to the award winners and wish them every success in their future careers. The #PSE2024 programme came to an end with three parallel sessions. In addition to a large amount of information, the participants will take the extremely positive energy of the conference home with them. The third #PSE2024 conference day began early with the plenary lecture ‘Synthesis of Goldene Comprising Single-atom Layer Gold’ by Lars Hultman, Linköpings universitet. The third, final poster session was also very well received. The industrial exhibition welcomed additional guests who were able to exchange ideas with the companies represented and get a taste of the conference atmosphere. Participants were able to network and deepen their contacts in lively discussions. The well-attended plenary lecture ‘Development of new Plasma Process Sources using Microwave Power’, given by Hirotaka Toyoda, 名古屋大学, Japan, closed the conference day and heralded the start of the subsequent evening event. About 300 participants came together for the conference dinner in the Kaisersaal Erfurt. In an impressive setting, the guests enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere, thanked the contributors who made this year's PSE Conference so special and savoured excellent food and drink. It looked like a very successful evening.

On the first day of #PSE2024, Conference Chairman Holger Kersten, Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, and PSE organiser Udo Klotzbach, European Society of Thin Films, jointly visited a 10th grade class at the Spezialschulteil für Mathematik/ Naturwissenschaften/ Informatik am Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium Erfurt to arouse interest in plasma surface technology. Holger Kersten used exciting experiments to convey lasting impressions and encourage more in-depth questions. The interested students were given the opportunity to visit the conference to make initial contacts with representatives from science and industry, which was gratefully accepted by many of the young people. On Tuesday and Wednesday, they had the opportunity to take part in the conference activities and visit the industry exhibition. We are delighted to have been able to spread our enthusiasm for plasma technology.

The second day of #PSE2024 began with a varied conference programme and the opening of the industry exhibition. In a modern and friendly atmosphere, conference participants and exhibitors engaged in intensive dialogue over refreshments and tasty delicacies. At the Rudolf Jaeckel Award ceremony, Sven Ulrich, President of Deutsche Vakuum-Gesellschaft e.V. DVG e.V., presented the prestigious prize to Prof Dr Jürgen Christen from Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg . In the Partner Country Session, Thomas Müller, RÜBIG Gruppe, presented Austrian companies that will be exhibiting at #PSE2024 this year. Christian Mitterer rounded off the very well-attended session with his presentation ‘Responsible Surface Engineering for a Sustainable Future’. The second day of the conference ended with a convivial and networking-intensive industry evening. A successful #PSE2024 day came to an end.
