Exciting News 🤩 📰 our Professors Stephen Gilbert and Jakob Nikolas Kather are part of the current DER SPIEGEL cover story „Your new doctor - How Artificial Intelligence will heal sickness and keep us healthy“. The article covers the vast field of how #AI already supports medical staff, how it will transform healthcare in the future, but also the weaknesses. As mentioned in the article, medical devices using AI are trained to assist oncologists or radiologists in analyzing huge amounts of data to identify patterns, or to assist during surgery. They can assist doctors, but they will not replace them. Other experts in this field and presented in the article are Daniel Truhn Sandy Engelhardt Dr. med. We bring Medicine and High-Tech closer together
Info
The Else Kröner Fresenius Center (EKFZ) for Digital Health, is a joint cross-faculty initiative of the Technische Universität Dresden, the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden along with several partners on the Dresden campus. Whereas conventionally the Schools of Medicine and Engineering work and research independently, the EKFZ bundles their expertise and brings Medicine and High Tech together through its interdisciplinary structure and network. Driven by a clear medical need and with direct access to the medical infrastructure, the EKFZ accelerates digitization in medicine for the benefit of the patient. The EKFZ channels its research effort on the direct interface of the digital world to the patient thereby serving as a bridge between medical big data efforts and traditional biomedical engineering. We do research in various fields of digital health such as robotics, implants, sensors, medical devices and connected care and are always looking for new and exciting ideas and concepts! Our focus is on providing strategic development areas, strengthened by specific professorships, which deepen the scientific infrastructure and theoretical basics. These competencies are the basis for successful translation of high-tech innovation into routine care.

The PsychoDigital Research Group of Dr. Magdalena Wekenborg is looking for physicians for an online survey on medical-legal conflict situations in everyday medical practice and their psychophysiological effects (in 🇩🇪). Research shows that physicians are increasingly confronted with medical-legal conflicts. This makes it important to provide physicians with effective support in these situations. In this nationwide research project in cooperation with the EKFZ for Digital Health and the Clinic for Visceral, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery at the Universitätsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus Dresden , they want to investigate how this can best be achieved. Whether or not you have ever been involved in a medical dispute, your participation will make an important contribution to medical health. 👉 To the survey 🇩🇪 for ca. 10-15 minutes of your time: https://lnkd.in/g4xXyCCh" 👉 More information about the PsychoDigital Research Group: https://lnkd.in/gpAK-rcW Dr. Magdalena Wekenborg (née Kanthak) Josi Harzbecker Kyra Iglesias Laura Kaiser

Physician and scientist Jakob Nikolas Kather spoke at the DGHO congress about the impact of artificial intelligence on medicine. He is convinced that doctors need to engage with AI because patients are increasingly relying on it.
Kategorie. Seien Sie gespannt! #dgho #ki #digitalhealth
