Everyone needs EPAL pallets, people and animals. And if you can transport animal feed and everything else on EPAL pallets, then of course you can also eat directly from EPAL pallets. Many thanks to our two models and congratulations to Kirsten Lageveen from Gronau in Germany for this great photo, which won one of the weekly prizes in our photo contest "Snap the pallet". EPAL | THE OPEN PALLET POOL
Info

Everyone in logistics and packaging industry has experienced in recent years how much importance the EU has for life in Europe: Packaging and packaging waste regulation (PPWR), European deforestation regulation (EUDR), Ecodesign sustainable product regulation (ESPR), Green claims directive, Renewable energy directive (RED) and Waste framework directive are just some of the topics that have kept us busy in recent years and will continue to do so. We do not agree with everything that is proposed and decided, but as an international association we know how important it is to find good compromises and common rules for all European countries that simultaneously promote economic and social development and protect the environment. We will continue to participate in this, and participation starts with voting in the EU elections. Voting has already started in the Netherlands and will continue in all other EU countries until Sunday. We support the EU Parliament's call to participate in the election: https://lnkd.in/ejUTDSpP Voting is a precious privilege. #EPAL #europallets #logistics #transport #packaging #circulareconomy #sustainability #madebyepal #UseYourVote #EUelections2024 #EU2024

Everyone knows that EPAL pallets can carry heavy loads and are stable and safe, but this picture shows once again impressively what that means. Of course, this is not the everyday use of EPAL pallets, but it is good to know that anything is possible if you have a stable basis like an EPAL pallet. Many thanks and congratulations to Vedat Gezme from Turkey for this great photo, which won the weekly prize. Participation in the EPAL photo contest “Snap the pallet” is still possible until 20 June 2024: https://lnkd.in/daR4QJuQ #EPAL #europallets #logistics #transport #packaging #circulareconomy #sustainability #madebyepal #snapthepallet

Beijing, Shanghai, Dusseldorf. On 23 April 2024, CFLP (China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing) and EPAL held a virtual conference to plan their cooperation in 2024. The focus is on the BRAPS project (Belt and road action on pallet sharing), with which EPAL and CFLP want to promote the use of reusable pallets like EPAL pallets for the transport of goods between Asia and Europe. In 2024, EPAL and CFLP will once again organize the international BRAPS Forum, which will take place in Ningbo in conjunction with the China Pallet International Conference organized by CFLP. Of course, participants from all over the world can also attend the BRAPS Forum 2024 virtually. Participating in the conference on 23 April 2024 for CFLP were Ma Zengrong (Director of CFLP Pallet Professional Committee), Xiao Shuhuai (Director of CFLP International Cooperation Department), Sun Xijun (General Secretary of CFLP Pallet Professional Committee) and Zhang Jinshu (Director Assistant of CFLP Pallet Professional Committee). An Xiaowei (General Manager of EPAL Asia) and Bernd Doerre (CEO of EPAL) took part on behalf of EPAL. #EPAL #europallets #logistics #transport #packaging #circulareconomy #sustainability #madebyepal CFLP Pallet Commission Pallet CFLP European Pallet Association e.V. PPWR adopted. In its last plenary session before the elections in June 2024, the European Parliament adopted the Packaging and Packing Waste Regulation (PPWR) with a huge majority of 476 votes in favour, 129 against and 24 abstentions. Immediately beforehand, the European Parliament rejected amendments tabled just a few days ago. With the approval of the PPWR, significant progress has been made towards the sustainability of packaging. This also includes EPAL pallets, which have already been fulfilling all requirements for the sustainability and circularity of packaging for many years through reuse, exchange, repair and zero-waste recycling in the open EPAL pallet pool. Despite the European Parliament's approval of the PPWR, some questions remain unanswered. The adopted version of the PPWR is only a provisional agreement. Many issues have been postponed to secondary legislation and will only be regulated by the European Commission in the future. EPAL supports the objectives of the PPWR and the agreement now adopted by the European Parliament, even if many compromises have weakened the very ambitious targets included in the original draft of 30 November 2022. #EPAL #europallets #logistics #transport #packaging #circulareconomy #sustainability #madebyepal

Every day is Earth day. The International Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22 April, but to ensure that future generations can also enjoy and celebrate the beauty of the earth, we must protect the earth and our environment every day of the year. We at EPAL make our small contribution by giving all companies the opportunity to protect the environment by eliminating or at least reducing plastic and single-use packaging and avoiding the creation of waste through zero-waste recycling. The reuse, exchange, repair and recycling of EPAL pallets are the basis for a responsible use of the natural and renewable resource timber. #EPAL #europallets #logistics #transport #packaging #circulareconomy #sustainability #madebyepal

The European Parliament will vote on the compromise proposal for the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) on 24 April 2024. After many discussions in the Parliament's committees and controversial proposals from the Commission, Parliament and Council, an agreement was reached in the trilogue negotiations on 4 March 2024, which has now been submitted to the European Parliament for a vote. EPAL supports the adoption of the proposed agreement, even though it involves numerous compromises, in particular in the area of packaging reuse. The compromise draft of the PPWR regulates a quota of 40% for transport packaging such as pallets used in the European Union from 01 Jan 2030. From 01 Jan 2040, the quota will increase to 70%, but only on a voluntary basis. However, pallets and other transport packaging used for transport in only one Member State or between premises of one company must be reusable in a reuse system such as the EPAL pallet pool within 18 months of the entry into force of the PPWR. This is an ambitious and correct goal, for which EPAL has been preparing since the publication of the first draft of the PPWR on 30 Nov 2022.
