Did you know that recently there is a legal regulation that hazardous substances must be labelled with an UFI code? This is important in case of accidents with products that can have health and physical effects. The numbers are generated on the website of the European Chemicals Agency. After the emergency at the poison control centre, the person concerned only has to transmit the respective UFI code and the centre can immediately provide information about which product it is and whether there is a danger. From 2025, the regulation will apply to all mixtures with physical and health hazards on the market. The codes can also already be found on our labels. #erc #additives #factcheck #friday #uficode

In order to maintain the quality of heating oil, there are the following things to consider when storing it: 1. The heating oil should be stored in a dark and cool place to avoid sludge-like deposits on the bottom of the tank, which can lead to clogging of filters on pumps and nozzles. 2. Double-walled or single-walled tank? Depending on the design, the oil tank can be installed in the cellar or buried in the ground as an underground tank. 3. Pay attention to cold protection! As already mentioned in our last articles, the heating oil clumps together at certain temperatures. The tank should be protected against this with appropriate antifreeze. ERC Flow Guard HEL is a suitable antifreeze. 4. A regular run-down of the fuel oil and tank cleaning should be done to ensure good flammability. 5. Today we want to talk about paraffinic fuels. Paraffinic diesel fuels are produced from various substances by synthesis or hydrogenation processes such as the Fischer-Tropsch process. The starting materials are biogenic residues and waste materials, vegetable oils (e.g. the often cited frying fat), biomass (e.g. maize) or CO2. Paraffinic fuels have, among other things, a high cetane number, low deposit formation, reduced emissions - especially less soot. Results from research show that paraffinic fuels also age and require certain additives during storage. A product that would be suitable for this is ERC Dynamic XTL, which was developed for paraffinic diesel fuels. The additive cleans the system and the injectors, the performance increases and the engine runs smoother. Corrosion and wear are avoided, oxidation stability, bearing stability and electrical conductivity are increased. We have also developed an additive for e-fuel oil - ERC Guard XTL. This turns an e-fuel into a premium e-fuel. #ercadditive #paraffinifuels #emissions
