Do you know the most faced problems by using pH sensors in “challenging” processes ❓ Do any of the following points sound familiar to you ❓ Contamination/deposit formation due to medium or process leads to inaccurate measurements 😕 ➡️ Continuous cleaning prevents this. Regularity is important here. It´s better, for example, to rinse every 2 hours for 1-5 minutes than just once a day for 10-15 minutes. This prevents buildup from forming in the first place (especially in processes in the paper and sugar industry that form strong deposits). Use in fermenters in the biopharmaceutical industry can also represent a challenging environment for sensors (e.g. pH, DO). The use of a retractable probe housing can be of great use here. 👍 Wear and tear of the sensor due to harsh process influences 😕 ➡️ The sensor can be protected from process influences such as temperatures, aggressive media, etc. and only brought into the process when a measurement is required. In the meantime, the sensor is stored moist in the cleaning chamber of the retractable probe housing to prevent it from drying out.
