🎉 From last year's Falling Walls Global Call winner to Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize recipient: Congratulations to Falling Walls Alumni Speaker Prof. Vivek Polshettiwar for winning the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize. Often called India’s Nobel Prize, it recognizes top researchers in science and technology. 🏆 In 2023, Vivek Polshettiwar was recognized as the Falling Walls Global Call Winner in the category Physical Sciences. We are truly impressed by the dimensions Onego Bio, Hume AI and Samsara Eco continue to reach and look forward to seeing their next steps. Congratulations! Samsara Eco (Winner of the 2022 Falling Walls Global Call, Science Start-Ups) has secured $65M Series A+ funding to help them scale its enzymatic recycling capabilities, with new commercial facilities to be built in South East Asia in the next few years. Hume (Winner of the 2021 Falling Walls Global Call, Science Start-Ups) has just raised $50M Series B funding and released their new conversational voice-to-voice AI. Their Empathic Voice Interface (EVI) is a first-of-its-kind conversational AI with emotional intelligence. Onego Bio (Winner of the 2022 Falling Walls Global Call, Science Start-Ups) completed their $40M Series A funding round earlier this year to scale up the production of their animal-free egg protein. Additionally, they recently raised another $15.2M in new funding from the European Innovation Council Accelerator Program and additional Series A investors, getting them ready for their market entry in North America next year! ℹ️ Falling Walls Venture provides a stage for pioneering science-based start-ups who have successfully turned science into business.
