Congratulations to one of our October Consultant of the Month winners in #APAC, Wen Ying Lee🏆 “I joined FDM in 2022, and after training in the IT Operations Practice, I started a client assignment as an IT Support Analyst at a banking and financial services company. In my current role, which requires extensive use of Unix servers, I utilise the skills I gained through the IT Operations Unix sprint almost daily. The OS Admin sprint, led by a highly skilled coach, was especially beneficial as an introduction to troubleshooting, greatly aiding me in incident management during my assignment. My team manages the production environment for over 100 applications, ensuring optimal functionality and resolving service disruptions quickly. Working alongside supportive senior colleagues has made the transition from FDM’s Skills Lab to client assignment smooth and engaging. With a balance of independence and available help, I’ve adopted a bold approach to investigations and troubleshooting. With guidance from technical leads and troubleshooting opportunities, I have grown into my role. My experience as an FDM Consultant has instilled a mindset of continuous learning and upskilling, which I carry into my client assignment to continually enhance my knowledge and skills and excel in my role.” #WeAreFDM #COTM

Stefan Cross is one of our incredible alumni who joined FDM back in 2021 in the Software Engineering Practice. Stefan’s journey into tech began at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, where he pursued a degree in Comprehensive Computer Science. After graduating, he was eager to find a role that would not only allow him to apply his skills, but also offer continuous learning and growth. Upon completing the FDM Skills Lab, Stefan was assigned to one of FDM's financial clients as a Java Developer. This role allowed him to grow both personally and professionally. Throughout his client assignment, he found FDM's Consultant Experience touchpoints and check-in meetings incredibly valuable, offering him opportunities to ask questions, stay connected, and gain a deeper understanding of his assignment terms. Reflecting on his experience with FDM, Stefan believes it provided a solid foundation for his career. He is excited about the continued growth opportunities in his new role as a full-time Information Technology Developer. Liza Stepanova is one of our highly talented consultants on client assignment as a Junior Software Engineer. She was recognised by her line manager for the excellent work she has been doing and won #October Consultant of the Month for #APAC 👏 “Throughout my studies at The University of Melbourne, I realised that even though I was always drawn towards technical work. I did not enjoy classical mechanical engineering. I had some exposure to coding and technology in my degree through various projects which I really loved, so I decided to make the switch and pursue that further. I joined the Software Engineering Practice in October 2022, and my role has grown significantly since starting my client assignment. Initially, I had a steep learning curve, often seeking guidance from my manager and team. Now, I'm more independent and trusted with key decisions, working on a broader range of projects that have boosted my confidence and skills. I work in IT Operations within the Trading and Supply business, focusing on maintaining smooth operations and resolving issues as they arise. This role has provided me with invaluable exposure to all kinds of technologies. One day I might be troubleshooting a cloud-related issue, the next day I could be automating a business process, and the following day I might be addressing networking problems or managing firewalls. The variety keeps the work engaging and dynamic. Yesterday, we proudly supported Poppy Day, a key fundraising initiative for the Royal British Legion that aims to raise vital funds for serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Our Ex-Forces teams across the UK joined fellow service members, veterans, volunteers, and supporters to champion this important cause. At FDM, we are dedicated to helping Ex-Forces personnel transition into fulfilling civilian careers as consultants in tech and business. Since 2014, FDM’s Ex-Forces Programme has provided a pathway for over 1,000 individuals worldwide, offering opportunities for those from all ranks and branches of the armed forces. We’re thrilled to announce that our London centre has partnered with GROAD to give our old merchandise a new purpose. GROAD (Get Rid of and Donate) is a dedicated environmental non-profit organisation focused on reducing waste while supporting underprivileged communities. We are donating our surplus items—including 134 water bottles, 123 tote bags, 106 mugs, and 10 notepads—to asylum seekers and low-income families.
