Happy 60 year anniversary to our Fendt dealer Mechan BV in the Netherlands 🥳 🎈🤝Our partner Mechan started out in Achterveld, Netherlands, when the brother de Vor from Amsterdam began selling used tractors in surprising locations: local pubs. Towards the end of the 1950s they aquired a garage with a forge marking the starting point of the de Vor company which merged with Mechan 50 years later.  🎉To celebrate this anniversary Mechan even published a number of historic images showing a few historic milestones in this partnership. Fendt 700 Vario Gen4: New standards🌱   On July 25th, the 100,000th Fendt 700 Vario rolled off the production line in Marktoberdorf in the 7th generation of the series. However, the Fendt 700 Vario already set milestones in earlier generations. In 2011, the fourth generation of the Fendt 700 Vario brought innovations: up to 240 hp, efficient SCR engine technology and a reduction in operating costs of up to 7% thanks to AdBlue. Farming is often about weather condition, which is why we keep our farmers updated 🌤️🌧️ ⛈️ To get the latest weather updates straight from Marktoberdorf, we have updated our weather station. Recent severe weather events have shown that changes in weather get more and more unpredictable. To make more resilient predictions comparable data is crucial. 🛠️ That is why Fendt installed a meteosol weather station in cooperation with German weather expert Joerg Kachelmann and the insurance company VEREINIGTE HAGEL Versicherung last december. Our station was even the 1,000th meteosol weather station.🎉 📍 Yesterday our station was moved to its final place on our round course, the place for our Fendt driving experience and training, just next to our Fendt Forum. From now on, our employees and regional farmers benefit from the data. 🌱 Besides a warning function for severe weather, our station provides current data on precipitation, leaf moisture, temperature, wind and soil temperature. These are parameters farmer need for planning their daily work, such as seeding, cultivation or harvest. 🍞 Have you ever asked yourself where the prices for cereals are decided? 📉Spoiler alert: The answer is complex. Like with every market the demand and quote determine the price. Whereas the latter depends on the global reserves and remaining stocks from earlier harvesting periods. The price also depends on the quality ranking as not all wheat can be used for bread and not all barley goes into beer production. The performance of a combine can affect the quality, so this is crucial to any farmer. 📊Cereals are classified according to their ingredients depending on weather conditions during the cultivation and harvesting period. To have more planning security farmers deal their harvests on commodity futures markets in the hope to secure a better price. It's a bit like looking into the crystal ball, playing poker or investing in stock. It can go great and result in good earnings or the price rises after the deal has been made and thereby missing out. 🗓This is why farmers worldwide take a look at the stock market performance to see, which moment is best for selling their harvest. Fendt supports IFAJ Congress 2024 Switzerland 📰 ‘High Elevations, High Expectations’ - was the motto of this year's IFAJ Congress 2024 from August 14th-18th. 🏔 Taking place in Interlaken surrounded by hills and mountains the city shows off Switzerlands special topographical conditions. These also characterise Swiss agriculture, where grassland and livestock farming dominate. So the part "High Elevations" was met easily in the beautiful Bernese Oberland. 🔎The second part of the motto takes society's expectations of agriculture into focus. These relate to climate, biodiversity, animal welfare and traceability. Swiss farmers and their upstream and downstream business partners are trying to fulfil these expectations under difficult conditions today. Discussions during the congress with affected farmers show, that they expect more challenging conditions ahead. Fendt and its Swiss sales partner GVS Agrar supported the IFAJ - International Federation of Agricultural Journalists congress as sponsors and took the chance to discuss situations for farmers with the international particpants and journalists. Fendt took part in the 2024 Australian Cotton Conference at the Gold Coast Convention Center from August 6 to 8. 📅 💚 Held over three days, the event featured over 2,500 delegates from 16 countries, 160 speakers, and 120 trade exhibits that provided an ideal platform to present the latest Fendt machinery to the Australian cotton industry. On display was an extensive range of Fendt products including tractors, tracked tractors and the new Fendt Rogator 900 carrier vehicle for application. 💬 “Fendt is the leading high-tech brand for customers who demand the best quality from machines and services and offers the right solution for cotton growers and contractors to improve performance, efficiency, and profitability in the field”, said @Saviour Mangion, Fendt Sales Manager ANZ.  In addition to a comprehensive display of machinery, Fendt was the inaugural sponsor of the Cotton Conference Olympic Lounge. 💡 Did you know that a combine consists out of more than 16.000 single parts? 💪 Until the 19th century treshing used to be a hard manual job. Back then agricultural flails were mainly used for separating the wheat grains from the chaff. 🌾 Nowadays there is no need for treshing grains by hand as powerful and reliable combines such as our Fendt IDEAL work like a factory on wheels: From cutting the raw material over treshing the grains out until cleaning the harvested material and loading it to the trailer of the tractor for transport. 🛠️Both in harvesting and engineering standstill is not an option. It is part of our daily business to enhance our technology to make the next harvest even more IDEAL. Fendt 700 Vario Gen3 revolution🌱 Let's continue our look into the past of the Fendt 700 Vario series on the occasion of our 100,000th Fendt 700 Vario celebrations.  2006 marked the start of the third generation of the Fendt 700 Vario with the introduction the new model of the 718 Vario. This new series significantly increased the performance of the basic vehicle and offered a power range of 130 to 180 hp. Another highlight for the third generation of the series were Cargo front loaders harmonised for the 700 Vario design and technology to increase safety, manoeuvrability and productivity with the tractor. 🗺 AGRICULTURE WORLDWIDE – Let's take a look at these pictures from one of the most important wine-producing countries in the world: France. 🍇 After Greek immigrants brought wine to France around 600 BC, French viticulture became one of the most popular in the world. Back then, the Phocaeans docked their ship on the coast of Gaul and founded the city of Masallia, which we know today as Marseille. On board: grapevines. The Phocaeans had already cultivated wine in their homeland. Both the climate and the soil near the Rhone were ideal for growing vines. As a result, Marseille is not only one of the most important cities in France today, but also the origin of viticulture in France.  🍷 France is the second largest wine producer in the world after Italy. 144,000 wineries cultivate 867,400 hectares of vines and produce 4,7 billion liters of wine. The best-known wine-growing regions are Bordeaux, Champagne, Burgundy, Alsace, Rhône and Loire. Famous French grape varieties include Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.  ☀ After the grapes have ripened over the summer, harvest in France usually starts in the beginning of August. For winemaking, a good balance between fructose and fruit-acid is important. The change of color will show when there is a decrease in acidity and an increase in sugar and like that, mark the right point to start the harvest. Sandro Eder has been supporting the Fendt tool store in Marktoberdorf since March. 🔧 As part of the vocational orientation program at Wertachtal-Werkstätten, which offer a variety of programmes for people with disabilities, he learns not only about operational processes, but also takes on many tasks. In addition to handing over and booking tools, he is also responsible for filling the automatic tool dispenser and stowing incoming goods. Until the end of October Sandro Eder has the chance to gain further practical experience and strengthen his ideas for his future profession.
