Sustainable tin production & processing from the Tellerhäuser Project, Germany & the Taronga Project, Australia.

Info

First Tin is a tin exploration and development group focussed on tin and associated metals in OECD countries. Tin production is currently concentrated in non OECD countries with a relatively high supply risk and ASM sees a niche for new production in stable, low risk, western countries. To this end it is currently focussed in the Free State of Saxony, Germany and the county of Cornwall, UK - two large historical tin producers that have seen relatively low levels of exploration in recent years. In addition to tin, ASM is actively evaluating potential of the critical metal indium, in particular at its Tellerhäuser project in Saxony. Recent work has resulted in the estimation and reporting of an indium resource compliant with 2012 JORC guidelines. This is partially coincident with the tin resource and is believed to be the largest and highest grade indium resource reported under 2012 JORC guidelines in the world. ASM is thus well poised to be a major player in two critical metals, tin and indium, in secure OECD countries.

We are pleased today to announce that regional exploration conducted in parallel with the Definitive Feasibility Study at our Taronga Tin Project in Australia, has shown excellent potential for satellite deposits in the Company’s large tenement holdings in the district.   Our CEO Bill Scotting commented:   “While most of our effort during the past two years has been directed toward completing the Feasibility Study on our Taronga deposit, the First Tin team in Australia have also been progressing some of the nearby regional targets to make the proposed Taronga Tin Processing Facility a hub for several potential satellite deposits. This may enable both increased tin production and extend mine life beyond the life of the Taronga deposit itself.   There are many possible targets in the vicinity, and TMPL has focussed to date only on known zones of sheeted tin-greisen veins similar to those found at the Taronga deposit, building on our unique knowledge base and lessons learned from work on that deposit.   The four main targets mentioned above are the most advanced and are all at the target definition or drill testing/resource definition stage. The potential for a hub and spoke concept has been significantly upgraded by this work stream.   We look forward to presenting additional exploration results as we progress these and other targets in the district over the coming months and years.”   View: https://lnkd.in/eUzA9zjr #FirstTin #1SN #Tin #Taronga #exploration

We are pleased today to announce that we have successfully raised c. £8m by way of a placing, pending shareholder approval. The proceeds from the Placing will be allocated across both of our high margin, low capex tin projects in Australia and Germany. The majority of the funding will be allocated to our Taronga project in Australia, to capitalise on enhancement opportunities identified in the Definitive Feasibility Study. This includes increasing the project’s Net Present Value to approximately AUD 400 million and meeting final permitting requirements. Key activities involve converting additional Inferred Resources, delivering a revised Resource Estimate, continuing Mineral Processing Testwork, as well as completing the Environmental Impact Statement. These activities have significant potential to create value upside and to extend the Life of Mine. Funds allocated to Tellerhäuser in Germany will be used to support internal activities focused on advancing progressing permitting and engaging with the local community. Additionally, limited fieldwork will be conducted to maintain the Exploration Licenses for the Gottesberg and Auersberg sites. We are pleased to announce that the permitting process at our Taronga Tin Project in Australia has further progressed with the receipt of the New South Wales Planning Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs).   After submitting our Scoping Report in August, the SEARs will now inform us on what studies need to be finalised for our Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). With many assessments well underway, we’re on track to submit the EIS by the end of 2024.   Our CEO Bill Scotting commented:   “The receipt of the SEARs is another step forward in the permitting process for our Taronga asset, which will enable rapid finalisation of the EIS. Since the publication of our DFS, the team in Australia has been focused on permitting and DFS optimisation work, bringing us closer to lodgement of the EIS and application for Development Approval”.   View: https://lnkd.in/ex3BHkiV  #FirstTin #Mining #TinProject #NSW #EnvironmentalImpactAssessment #SustainableMining #Taronga

We are pleased today to announce that the permitting process for our Taronga Tin Project in Australia has further progressed with the lodgement of the Scoping Report. This key milestone initiates the NSW State Significant Project permitting process, as the report was lodged alongside a request to the NSW Planning Secretary for Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs). With many Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) assessment requirements already advanced, we anticipate rapid progress toward lodging the EIS by the end of 2024. Our CEO Bill Scotting commented: “The lodgement of the Scoping Report and request for SEARs is a key step in the permitting process for Taronga. Since the completion of our DFS, permitting alongside DFS optimisation work has been the principal focus of the team in Australia and we are excited to now be in a position to soon lodge the EIS and apply for Development Approval.” View: https://lnkd.in/earqhAKv #FirstTin #Mining #TinProject #NSW #EnvironmentalImpactAssessment #SustainableMining #PermittingProcess #Taronga

We are pleased today to announce that new mineral processing testwork at our Taronga Tin Project in Australia suggests better recoveries than those previously reported and used in the Definitive Feasibility Study. Highlights include: - Crushing recovery of 91.2% of contained tin - Coarse gravity circuit recovery of 82.9% of gravity feed tin - End to end recovery of 75.6% tin to a 66.7% Sn concentrate Our CEO Bill Scotting commented: “The results of this testwork are very encouraging and confirm the readily treatable and upgrading nature of the Taronga mineralisation. Recoveries of over 75% tin from a higher-grade sample to a high-quality concentrate from the simple, coarse gravity tin circuit are much better than the recoveries used in the recently announced DFS. Potential for even higher recoveries can also be seen with slight modifications to the current process plant design. It is proposed to collect more samples to repeat this work and confirm these excellent recoveries.” View: https://lnkd.in/dQd7kXTU #FirstTin #Mining #MineralProcessing #Taronga #Australia

We have received a strong endorsement of our tin assets having successfully raised £2.1m by way of a placing, pending shareholder approval. In addition, we are pleased to welcome Metals X Limited, Australia's largest tin producer, as a new shareholder following the news that it has acquired a strategic 23% stake in our business. Metals X brings decades of expertise in tin mining and processing, along with a strong balance sheet, which will help First Tin advance its own high margin, low capex tin projects in Australia and Germany.    Metals X Chairman PETER GUNZBURG commented: "We are delighted to make a strategic investment in First Tin PLC and look forward to working closely together. The combination of Metals X's operating and financial capabilities with First Tin's exciting and late stage development assets should be of significant benefit to all stakeholders." Our CEO Bill Scotting said: "First Tin is pleased to receive Metals X's endorsement of our tin assets. Having recently delivered a successful Definitive Feasibility Study for Taronga and a strengthened mineral resource estimate for Tellerhäuser, we look forward to deepening our collaboration with Australia's largest tin producer to optimise and accelerate the delivery of our growth projects, which will supply essential tin units to a world undergoing an energy transition and digital transformation."   View: https://lnkd.in/dj5_cZ8t #FirstTin #MetalsX #TinMining #Fundraising #MiningIndustry

We are pleased today to announce that our 100% owned Australian subsidiary, Taronga Mines Pty Ltd has acquired an additional Exploration Licence (EL 9200) that consolidates our landholdings in the Taronga district, and has extended and closed off the soil anomaly at nearby Pound Flat. The region around Taronga is well mineralised with tin and has historically produced over 83,000t tin in concentrate between 1872 and 1984, and the Taronga deposit has a measured, indicated and inferred resource base of 138,000t tin. Our CEO Bill Scotting commented: “The acquisition of EL 9200 provides First Tin with access to the deep leads, a major part of the previous production profile in the Emmaville district. Historically the grade mined was very high and therefore could form a target for high grade supplementary feed for any processing plant established at Taronga, approximately 7km away by existing roads. The final soil sampling results for Pound Flat appear to have extended the target slightly and to have now closed off the anomaly. The close agreement between known mineralisation and the soil anomaly once again shows the importance of soil sampling as a regional exploration tool. We consider Pound Flat a high priority target for future follow-up work." View: https://lnkd.in/eppFkgcE #FirstTin #1SN #Tin #Taronga #ExplorationUpdate
