Surveillance at our booth? Not quite—only at our Driver Monitoring System (DMS) demonstrator! Meet our colleague Emily, who introduces one of our five booth exhibits. The example system immediately alerts the driver, the moment they take their eyes off the road. What is the topic at the center of this specific demonstrator? Our driver behavior studies. 🔧 Welcoming Loris Brock to our Electrics & Electronics Team! We are excited to introduce Loris as our newest Development Engineer in the Electrics & Electronics department. With a Master’s in Vehicle Engineering and Transport, Loris brings extensive expertise and a passion for innovation in the automotive industry. Outside of work, he is a dedicated motorsports enthusiast, serving as a race engineer for various teams at the Nürburgring. This unique experience offers him a fresh perspective and fuels his passion for engineering precision and performance. Additionally, his involvement in a handball team underscores his exceptional teamwork skills. Two weeks ago, our team had the great opportunity to present some of our innovations, current research projects and visions at our booth at the Aachen Colloquium 🚘 This year's colloquium was once again packed with industry experts, opening the perfect opportunity to share insights, network, discuss the mobility of the future and get joint projects off the ground. 💼 We are still processing all the impressions of the event, but as the saying goes: ‘After the event is before the next event.’ The Aachen Colloquium 2025 is already in the making and we can't wait to be there again! 🗓️ Many thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth, attended our presentations and exchanged ideas with us. 🙌💡 What was your highlight at our booth? With the new United Nations Regulation on Driver Control Assistance Systems (DCAS) significant updates to global automated driving safety standards have entered into force! Key highlights of the DCAS regulation: 🔸 Global harmonization: The regulation ensures consistent safety and performance standards for vehicles equipped with DCAS worldwide. DCAS is defined as Level 2 Automated Driving Systems (SAE). 🔸 Mandatory approval: All DCAS-equipped vehicles must undergo approval testing by the Type Approval Authority before production starts. 🔸 Comprehensive documentation: Manufacturers must provide detailed information about their DCAS systems. Ergonomic Workplaces for Better Health and Well-Being 🧑💻 The health of our employees is our top priority. That’s why we were excited to participate in yesterday's ergonomics coaching by Die Techniker at Institut für Kraftfahrzeuge (ika) - RWTH Aachen University 🎉💪 Our employees spend a significant amount of their working time sitting in front of a screen. This makes it even more important to focus on a healthy posture and an ergonomically designed environment. With the right movements and an optimal workstation setup, we can promote our employees' well-being and support their long-term health.
