We are live! 🚀 Since October, our next gen virtual power plant (VPP) allows Enpal customers to save up to double the amount possible with previous VPPs. Now we have ~1000 customer onboarded. But the goal is clear: Rapidly allow all current and future Enpal customers to join and thus, build the largest residential VPP in Europe in the next 1-2 years. How do you envisage the energy system in 20 years' time? 🌎⚡️ This is what I discussed with ex Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess and Northvolt top manager Emma Nehrenheim at Bits & Pretzels. What’s clear: 🌞 renewables will be 50% of the global power mix (from 30% today) 🚗 there will be 10 times as many electric cars on the road ♨️ Heat pumps will be outselling fossil fuel boilers That is great news for the climate – but also brings more volatility for the grid! 💡 That’s why Virtual Power Plants are so important. We can connect all solar energy systems, batteries, electric cars and heat pumps, into a gigantic virtual power plant, sort of a decentralized Giga Battery. At Enpal, in cooperation with Flexa, will now build the largest virtual power plant in Europe – an AI-backed, decentralized Giga battery with the size of a nuclear power plant.
