What an unforgettable night! 🎊 Pitch Night in Singapore brought together the local startup ecosystem and the energy was electrifying ⚡Startups, mentors, investors, enablers, government representatives, German Accelerator friends from far and wide here for SWITCH - all in one room, sharing stories, challenges, making connections. Huge shout-out to the German startups of the German Accelerator Southeast Asia Market Access Program, and startups from South Korea from Gyeongnam CCEI and BTB Ventures (비티비벤처스). All of them delivered great pitches to a full house of over 180 guests at Mastercard Asia Pacific HQ. Special thanks goes to Mr Christoph Hallier, Deputy Chief of Mission at the German Embassy of Singapore for giving opening remarks and your wonderful support to our startups and events. Vara, a participant in our India Market Discovery cohort 2024-2, has successfully raised $8.9M in funding while expanding its AI-enabled early breast cancer detection solutions to India. Vara provides a comprehensive, AI-supported breast cancer screening process—from booking to biopsy—screening over 100,000 women monthly to enhance detection rates, strengthen radiology capacity, and reduce healthcare costs. This funding round was led by Smart Family Office (Austria), FJH (Germany), and IBB Ventures, a healthcare investor based in Berlin. In Germany, nearly 40% of breast cancer screenings are managed on Vara’s AI platform, making it the only AI system deployed at this scale within the national program.
