In a recently published study from the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion exploring the role of potassium in catalysis and biology, a greateyes camera was pivotal in capturing detailed X-ray emission spectroscopy (XES) data. The research utilised a greateyes CCD camera (26 μm × 26 μm pixel size, 256 × 1024 pixels) to measure potassium Kβ transitions with high precision. The camera, combined with a dispersive in-vacuum von Hamos spectrometer, enabled a resolution of about 0.8–1 eV, providing key insights into potassium's coordination environment and electronic properties, demonstrating the importance of greateyes advanced imaging technology in cutting-edge scientific research. In a high-resolution crystal spectrometer setup, our 2048 × 2048 BI CCD camera camera was used to capture precise X-ray data for advanced experiments. Mounted in the inner spectrometer, it detected X-rays with pinpoint accuracy, thanks to its 2,048 × 2,048 pixels and 13.5 × 13.5 μm² pixel size. Operating in a vacuum, it ensured minimal X-ray absorption for highly accurate measurements.
