Info

GTM Testing and Metrology GmbHis a company in Bickenbach (Hessen, Germany). Our highly motivated and qualified employees deal with the precise measurement of physical quantities force and torque. With over 30 years of experience in the development of force and torque transducers, transfer standards, standard machines as well as for calibration of transducers for force and torque, GTM is worldwide present. Force and torque sensors of numerous manufacturers are referenced and calibrated by our solutions. That's why we claim with pride: "We define precision" Our clients include many national metrology institutes and R&D centers of large international corporations and small businesses. Our years of experience and expertise, a clear corporate focus on precision and our delivery reliability are our strengths. The measurement of force and torque as vector quantity (e.g, Multi-Component Transducers (“multi-axis transducers”), wheel load sensors, …) GTM differs from many other manufacturers that capture these variables only as a scalar quantity. GTM herefore is able to calibrate sensors vectorially. Europe's first DAkkS accredited multi-component calibration machine is located on our site in Bickenbach. We are the prime address for forces and moments to turn to also for calibration services. We are accredited by the "Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle" (DAkkS / German Accreditation Body) and subject ourselves to regular audits.

💡 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 - 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟰 Every transducer is subject to certain limitations, whether in terms of the torque for which it is designed or its area of application. Another aspect that we want to take a closer look at today are the environmental restrictions that apply to our transducers. The aspects to be considered in this context are generally protection against the ingress of solids and liquids as well as temperature sensitivity. 🌡️ 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: Our standard torque transducers are all designed for the temperature range +10°C to +60°C, but can also withstand higher temperatures depending on the transducer. In general, the overall technical limits are 🧊 -40°C and +180°C 🔥, due to physical limitation of transducer materials and components. ☄️ 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝘀: Due to their design, our torque transducers are not sealed as standard. They are therefore protected against dust (IP54). 💧 𝗟𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗱𝘀: GTM torque transducers are for non-rotating measurements and therefore openly installed. This makes them resistant against splashing water (IP54). Due to the choice of steel and protection of electronic parts in the transducer, humidity has no impact, either in terms of corrosion nor for the quality of the measurement signals. 📢 Our standard doesn’t meet your needs? No problem, with our OEM & customized solutions we can offer you solutions outside the standard (up to IP67). Book your personal appointment 📆 with our OEM team to learn more about your options and how we can support you. You can find the link in the comments. 👇 #Torque #Transducers #Measurement #Sensor #oem #Technology

💡 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 - 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟯 In the last part of our torque series, we explained that there are 🍥 rotating and non-rotating torque transducers. At GTM, we specialize in the latter, which is why today we want to take a closer look at the special features of these torque transducers, which are also known as reaction #torque transducers or torque sensors. 🎯 Mounting and application: Our transducers can be mounted 🛠️ on a fixed surface or structure to measure the torque acting on that structure. Examples could be test benches, assembly lines, industrial processes or static components. 🎯Measurement accuracy: Non-rotating torque transducers are designed to provide accurate measurements of the torque applied to the stationary structure. Measurement accuracy is important to obtain accurate data for quality control, performance analysis and research purposes. 🎯Versatile applications: These transducers can be used in a variety of industries including automotive 🚗, aerospace ✈️, construction 🏗️, materials testing and many others. 🎯Static calibration: Compared to rotary torque transducers, which can be calibrated during rotation, non-rotary torque transducers require static calibration as they are mounted on stationary structures. 🎯Adaptability: Non-rotating torque transducers can be adapted to different requirements and environmental conditions to ensure that they meet the specific needs of an application. In the next post, we will talk a little more about the last point, the adaptability of the sensors, focusing on the environmental constraints that these sensors are subject to. So don’t miss out on that one. #TorqueTransducers #MeasurementTechnology #TorqueSensor #StrainGauge

🌍👧👦 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 - 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻! Today we are celebrating the 70th World Children's Day 2024 under the slogan “With children's rights into the future”. This day reminds us that children have a right to protection, safety, health and an intact environment. The realization of these rights is a task for society as a whole, to which each of us can contribute - including the industry. Measurement technology can play a decisive role in supporting these rights. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀? 🔍 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆: measurement technology ensures that products that children use, such as toys, furniture or everyday objects, are safe. Strict tests such as material testing and precise measurements guarantee that these products meet the highest standards and do not pose a risk to children's health. ♻️ 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: Material tests ensure that environmentally friendly and recycled materials meet the same safety requirements as conventional materials. This helps to minimize the consumption of resources and to create an environment 🌳🐝🐅🐋🌷 worth living in for the next generation. 💡 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Continuous development in measurement technology makes it possible to develop ever better and safer products. New technologies help to identify and eliminate potential weaknesses at an early stage before products get into the hands of children. Let's use this World Children's Day as a reminder that we have a responsibility to the next generation - including in the manufacture and testing of the products that children use every day.   #WorldChildrenDay #Measurement #technology #MaterialTesting #Sustainability #PrecisionWins #GTM

💡 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 - 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟮 Torques can be measured rotating and non-rotating. For rotating torque measurements, dynamic measurements are carried out on a rotating system or a rotating transducer. The transducers are mounted on rotating parts such as shafts or axles. Torque transducers from #GTM are designed for non-rotating applications and are used wherever precision and durability are required. These transducers are also known as reaction torque transducers or torque sensors. They are designed to measure the torque applied to a stationary or fixed body or structure. The torque to be measured does not necessarily involve a rotating movement. This makes them suitable for different scenarios in various industrial applications and in metrological traceability: 🔸 Automotive industry 🚗🏭 🔸 Wind turbines 💨💪🏻 🔸 Material testing 🔸 Research and development 👩🔬 The use of GTM torque sensors enables engineers to monitor, optimize and trace back the performance and safety of machines and systems. #Sensors #Measurement #Torque #Transducer #StrainGauge
