We’re excited to introduce Stefan Notter, Development Engineer at H2FLY! ✨ Learn how Stefan was inspired to join the industry and get an insight into the exciting work he’s undertaking. How did you get into aviation and end up at H2FLY? I inherited my passion for aviation from my father. After graduating high school, I studied aerospace engineering at the University of Stuttgart. After an incredible journey in academia as a research assistant at the Uni Stuttgart iFR, I sought out a role that would challenge me and make an impact on the future of aviation. What does your role entail, and how does this help H2FLY's mission? I am working on the physics-based and data-driven modeling of fuel cell systems. Models enable us to design future generations of our systems efficiently. In control systems engineering, we use models to optimise operating parameters, design algorithms, and test software in a virtual environment. I am keen on driving forward model-based control topics and advanced controls for fuel cell systems. What about H2FLY excites you? Sustainable flying is the future, and contributing to making that dream a reality is thrilling. I love the fast-paced environment and the technical challenges that often seem impossible. Above all, I am grateful for having the chance to work with super-motivated, highly talented, and warm-hearted colleagues. What has been your most exciting moment at H2FLY so far? One of the standout moments was the final integration of our H2F-175 fuel cell system into the Joby eVTOL aircraft onsite in California. But I am almost just as enthusiastic about a clever little technical detail that is hardly noticeable but contributes to an elegant piece of engineering in the end. It’s these small moments of ingenuity that truly ignite my passion. #TeamH2FLY #Aviation #Engineering

This week marks the 100th anniversary of Stuttgart Airport, an occasion to celebrate the airport as a long-standing partner to many of our successful projects and pioneers in promoting sustainability. ⭐️ Stuttgart Airport has supported our mission to realize hydrogen-electric aviation from the very beginning. Our demonstrator aircraft HY4 took off from Stuttgart Airport for the first time in 2016. In the years since, further test flight campaigns have followed, which we have been able to operate from Stuttgart. Thank you for your support over the years and all the best for the next 100 years! #100yearsSTR

"Net Zero via Jet Zero - is not just possible, it is necessary." Our CEO, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Josef Kallo, recently attending Farnborough Airshow and shared his thoughts on the importance of working together to find a solution to Net Zero. "But it needs collaboration, take our recent partnership with Joby Aviation. Recently, we integrated our H2F-175’ fuel cell system into Joby's hydrogen-electric technology demonstrator aircraft showed that it is possible, not only to have high continuous power, but have fuel stored for a few hours. Our achievement demonstrates that the technology is out there, and I hope more companies take the risks and collaborate to make this possible."
