Southern Lights addresses these issues by providing a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution that simplifies business development and conceptual design, making processes more transparent, efficient, and manageable. 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 “𝐂” 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐇𝟒 - 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐎𝟐 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞-𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 One of the key challenges of renewable energy is efficient storage and transport. Green molecules based on #hydrogen can be a game changer to overcome this challenge. However, hydrogen has a low volumetric energy density and the transmission system needs to be built. Renewable methane is therefore an important building block of the energy transition bridging this gap. This is why we are delighted to see that Greenlyte Carbon Technologies ground breaking Direct Air Capture technology will provide green CO2 to synthesize green methane with hydrogen in a collaborative research project. It is co-funded by the European Union and the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗥𝗪 as part of the 𝗘𝗥𝗗𝗙 "𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗲.𝗜𝗡.𝗡𝗥𝗪" 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. In the DAC-2-E-Methane project they are partnering with the excellent research institutes Zentrum für BrennstoffzellenTechnik (ZBT), the Lehrstuhl für Technische Thermodynamik (LTT), RWTH Aachen University), the RWTH Aachen University and Lehrstuhl für Energieverfahrenstechnik und Energiesysteme. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗔𝗖-𝟮-𝗘-𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁? 🔋 Basis: Greenlyte’s innovative, highly energy efficient DAC process is the fundament of the project. 🔋 High degree of flexibility: The DAC process can be operated with renewable energy. 🔋 Climate neutral energy source: H2 and atmospheric CO2 are converted to climate neutral methane 🔋 Use of existing infrastructure: Methane can be easily fed into the existing natural gas grid 🔋 Gain: long-term availability and transportability of renewable energy stored as methane "The innovative approach we are taking underscores our commitment to driving forward the energy transition with a practical, high-impact technology. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐝 🇪🇦 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞! Uwe and I have two interesting days behind us where we were invited to take the Startup Stage at Connecting Green Hydrogen Europe 2024. We brought with us six of our startups with a good mix of digital and hardware solutions.  It was clear why we see Madrid or Spain as a whole as an exciting place for us and our startups. 1️⃣ Low LCOE and very active incumbents like CEPSA, Enagás Renovable, Iberdrola (also looking for partnerships) 2️⃣ access to free land, subsidies and talent, as shown by the active projects of H2UB startups such as TURN2X, Jolt - Activated Electrodes for Electrolysis and others 3️⃣ proximity to non-European countries from which in total >70% of hydrogen will come in the future A big thank you again to the organizers especially Renard Ye and his colleagues for the opportunity and to the selected Advisory Board around Sebastian Vetter, Vuk Trifkovic, Belén Linares Corell, Nevin Alija.

  𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗬𝗗𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 📈 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴  ✨ What an event! What a sensational crowd! What a pool of experience and knowledge! The second edition of the H2UB #HYDROVERSE 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 was an overwhelming experience. Almost 600 people attended our sessions, the exhibition and networking areas and celebrated with us. The Colosseum Theatre in #Essen was once again the perfect venue, and this year we made it to the main stage!! ▶️Let me point out a few outstanding things: ▶️𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿! - As H2UB and HYDROVERSE grow, so does the CONVENTION. We have doubled in size: more start-ups on stage, a very large exhibition area, more speakers, more guests. ▶️𝗨𝗽-𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴! - Our on-stage programme has been designed to show the progression of hydrogen start-ups from early-stage founders, to growing and scaling companies, to those that have made it into partnerships with established companies. ▶️𝗚𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗿! - Thanks to our excellent keynote speakers and high-level panellists, we were able to explore many topics in depth. ▶️𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹! - H2UB is a European project. Its aim is to support European start-ups. The international guests at the HYDROVERSE CONVENTION showed that the interest in our work and the start-ups we gathered was even more international: with guests from Japan, the USA, the MENA region and from all parts of Europe, the event proved that defossilization, decarbonisation and climate protection are truly global issues. ▶️𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿! - Many partners are with us on our journey to support start-ups as a key driver of the hydrogen economy. Together with our shareholders RAG-Stiftung, OGE, TÜV SÜD, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. , members and supporting partners, we once again prove our slogan "𝙃𝙮𝙙𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠". Thank you for being part of the HYDROVERSE CONVENTION 2024 🚀 With almost 600 visitors from across Europe, Asia, the USA and Australia, we gathered the brightest entrepreneurs, experts and start-ups to showcase the huge potential and innovative power driving the #energy transition and the #hydrogen economy. 💡 Two keynote speeches demonstrated the broad scope of the international discussion on the importance of hydrogen. Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, CEO of Hydrogen Europe, made a strong case for a rapid expansion of the hydrogen economy, commented on the impact of the European election results on the hydrogen strategy, and argued for more flexibility and better funding options for various applications and projects currently underway. “The end of the rainbow” was his phrase for the need to open up the hydrogen color theory. On the other hand, Michael Liebreich, host of the “Cleaning Up” podcast, warned against exaggerated expectations for hydrogen and addressed the huge amount of funding needed to meet the targets set by policymakers around the world. He made it clear that the key is to focus on affordable and unavoidable issues – according to his hydrogen ladder. Both positions were the subject of lively debate during our networking breaks and in the exhibition area. 🎤 A highlight were our international and thought-provoking discussions on stage with #H2 experts Trevor Best, Dr. Niklas Friederichsen, Luc Graré, Juergen Groenner, Thomas Hüwener, Philip Kessler, Guillaume Lesueur, Dr. Christoph Noeres, Martin Skov Skjøth-Rasmussen, Dr. Sopna Sury, Christian Olshausen and Marko Virkebau. Talking about #startups: More than 50 international hydrogen start-ups provided input on current technologies and the future of the industry – on stage and in our exhibition 🌍 For the first time, we were also joined by 8 Premium Supporters and Exhibition Partners. Thank you for showing what established industry players have to offer in terms of hydrogen #innovation. 🏆 At the end of the day we presented our HYDROVERSE CONVENTION Award, sponsored by NRW.BANK, to the lucky winner Marko Virkebau from Stargate Hydrogen. He convinced our international #HYDROVERSE jury with his innovative alkaline electrolyser, which uses breakthrough materials to achieve higher current densities without using precious metals. H2UB CEO Uwe Kerkmann and Anke Hosse-Doblinger presented the award with a symbolic prize money of 2024 Euros.
