The more renewable #energy is generated by sun and wind, the more energy needs to be stored and released for a longer consistent period. An innovative Long Duration Energy (LDES) solution is presented by Elestor B.V., one of the new companies in our 𝑺𝑷𝑹𝑰𝑵𝑻 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 starting next week. The Dutch company, founded 10 years ago, has developed a flow battery using #hydrogen and a liquid electrolyte. Their mission: to build a storage system with the lowest possible storage cost (LCoS) per MWh. 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲: The use of hydrogen and a low cost, abundant electrolyte, results in… 🔋 25 years lifetime, fully recyclable 🔋 Lowest possible LCoS (€/MWh) 🔋 Unique integration with hydrogen infrastructure and electrolysers 🔋 75% Round Trip Efficiency “A clean and sustainable energy system will soon be at the very basis of society.
