Katrina Alcorn's advice to all of us: You have GOT to find a way to WORK LESS https://lnkd.in/eUpk-MY5 In her talk "Stop burning out Designers! : Creating supportive Workplaces for all", the world-class design leader (ex IBM, now Accenture Song) shared the main reasons why designers are burning out, and how to break the cycle. Starting preparation for 2024, we felt burnout could not be skipped among the list of topics. And while it isn't as "sexy" as design systems or the design craft, people needed to have more conversations around it. That's why also, from today on, Katrina's talk is live in our youtube channel! just head to https://lnkd.in/e9kzK4iq to watch for free ✨

Our first Leadership Ateliers Session with Marvin Olukayode Hassan brought us the following learnings: #1: Design leaders should assess current UX maturity level using a maturity scale and develop growth plan aligned with organizational goals and responsibilities. #2: Design leaders' most important skill to have is to be able to clearly communicate design team needs and responsibilities to other stakeholders and leadership. (And there's an event coming in April / May just dedicated to this!) #3: Career frameworks are not one-fits-all and should always be tailored to the organization's current maturity level. #4: Design teams should always have a focus on demonstrating tangible business impact through metrics like engineering hours saved or conversion improvements instead of just "speaking design". If you want to learn more, follow Marvin or his new project UXPEERS and join us in the next session towards the end of November!

What does great UX look like when there are no screens? https://lnkd.in/eRWJhwM3 "The Path to Zero Screens" is now open on Youtube! Juan Hidalgo from Mews tried to answer this question speaking about their mission at Mews to switch to "User Disengagement" : Building predictive systems that eliminate the need for people behind screens. Of course this brings lots of challenges, but it might be closer than you might expect! Check out our Youtube Channel to find more!

What is going on in the European Design Job Market? You can now find out in our Youtube channel! As promised and as part of our bi-monthly drop, we are releasing the job panel Hang 🤙 Xu moderated where Lena Kul (Miro), Silke Bochat (Weleda), Dilara Cumhur Neutze and Nathan G. (Volue) spoke frankly to our audience about the situation, but also offered strategies and stories to learn from. It's easy to simplify some of what happened in the last 2 years with "companies being careless" or "unnecesary growth lead th overhiring", etc. If you want to hear a real argument on the matter, and learn how you can be better informed, head to our Youtube channel and watch for free. https://lnkd.in/eQHRmDM8
