Feel the Future. Our colleague Louis sent us this picture from his vacation. It was taken on the Lofoten Islands in Norway. Many people use their vacation time to recharge their batteries, enjoy the present and think about the future. Especially in these turbulent times, it is important to distinguish between what is important and less important, what is true and what is false. Sometimes you come to the conclusion that many things are not as bad as you might feel at the moment. Being grateful and humble and turning your gaze away from yourself and towards others from time to time often helps you to go through life with greater satisfaction. GEORG delivers roll grinder to Volkswagens Gigafactory in Salzgitter The first Volkswagen Group owned battery cell factory is being built in Salzgitter. The site is set to become the focal point for the company's expansion of electromobility. VW will operate its own roll workshop in Salzgitter so that the rolls for the calendering systems can be reconditioned at regular intervals. To ensure that its calendering rolls remain in perfect condition and have a long service life, Volkswagen AG ordered a high-end roll grinder typ GEORG ultragrind SG 2 in foundation-free GEORG ultrablock design as the key machine for the roll shop. The machine will be equipped with the unique GEORG smartcontrol CNC system and will also be equipped with a comprehensive package of the latest roll testing technology. Recently, a new TBA400 ecoline for ELICO, a member of Matelec, a Lebanese company known for reliable and efficient electrical products and sustainable energy solutions, was successfully pre-accepted in GEORG’s workshops. After his recent training on Matelec’s new cutting line (previously reported), Kreuztal is already a familiar destination for Anthony El-Khoury (pictured right), Maintenance Manager of Matelec. This time, he accompanied ELICO’s General Manager Saleem Abu Ghosh (center) and engineers Maen Jarajreh and Shadi Omari (from left). In a newly constructed workshop near Amman, this line will soon help to boost ELICO’s production capacities. Last year we were able to visit our customer Schütz GmbH & Co. KGaA with our young talents and spend a great day together with the Schütz trainees. This week, our two-day training trip with around 50 GEORG trainees and dual students went to our long-standing customer Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, where we also have many GEORG machines and lines in operation.
