Staying one step ahead of pathogens, is not so easy with the many pathogens we encounter every day. In the new episode of the HZI podcast #InFact, Kathrin de la Rosa from the Centre for Individualised Infection Medicine (CiiM) explains how personalized immunotherapies will help us keep the upper hand in the competition with pathogens in the future, and what tricks she is learning from nature in her research. https://lnkd.in/eUUQm3Dp You missed an episode? Sounds and Science – #Wien meets #Braunschweig: Infections from #Mozart to #Schubert – the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research conducted a wonderful concert tonight at the Staatstheater Braunschweig. It was a magic evening. A first class string quartet of highly experienced members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Rainer Honeck, Rémy Ballot, Hans Peter Ochsenhofer and Manfred Hecking played Mozart, Schubert, Brahms, Strauss and Beethoven. A group of renowned scientists from the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research and the Technische Universität Braunschweig, Kathrin de la Rosa, Melanie Brinkmann, Thomas Pietschmann, Josef Penninger and Martin Korte gave profound and entertaining talks on the medical histories of famous composers, life science biology, and healthy aging. The room was packed and standing ovations demonstrated the enthusiasm of the audience. https://lnkd.in/gdnbzWke This performance fits perfectly with the goals of the newly founded Science and Art Lab at Technische Universität Braunschweig where we bring together cutting-edge research with art in their various forms of expression and media. The aim is to inspire dialogue, enable different approaches to research questions and an constructive exchange between science, art, and the public. https://lnkd.in/gV-sCVGT I'm so grateful to develop these formats together with our partners in the region and beyond to elevate scientific understanding and science communication on an entirely new level. #sciencecommunication #artsandscience #soundsandscience #excellence #science Stadt Braunschweig City of Vienna VIENNA PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY FRIENDS OF THE VIENNA PHILHARMONIC INC Science and Art Art & Science Art & Science Group The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art Science Gallery London Science Gallery Bengaluru Jule Hillgaertner Henrike Wenzel Julius Othmer Dr. Jeremias Othman
