Now it's getting chemical... 👩🔬: Do you know what is behind the formula C18H14? It's terphenyls, so-called plasticizers, which we have used to give our microlite polishing tools the necessary elasticity. Their disadvantage: they are on the REACH SVHC list of "substances of very high concern” because they are persistent and bioaccumulative (vPvB), i.e. they remain in the environment for a long time and accumulate in biological material. But that's over 🛑 at Hermes! As part of our wide range of activities in the area of sustainability, we are also focusing on banning hazardous substances.   So we have developed an alternative binding system for our microlite products. 🏃♂️ A week full of sporting events and team spirit 🏋️♀️ Last weekend our teams have been busy showing their dedication and team spirit at three fantastic sporting events across Germany, Austria, and Poland. 🌟 B2Run Germany: On Friday 20 of our colleagues participated in the #B2Run in Hamburg. Alongside 7,000 runners from 343 companies, we completed the 5.6 km route through the Altona Volkspark, finishing with an unforgettable sprint into the Volksparkstadion! 🌳 An added bonus: a tree is being planted for every team as part of a climate protection initiative. 🌟 Poland Business Run: On Sunday our team in Poland took part in the country’s largest charity run! Four teams of five runners each ran to support individuals with musculoskeletal disabilities and those recovering from mastectomy surgeries. 💙 🌟 Fischer Family Day in Austria: Our Hermes team in Austria showed incredible strength and determination at the tug-of-war competition during the Fischer Family Day, a customer event hosted by fischer Edelstahlrohre Austria for their 25th anniversary. Despite the extreme heat and tough opponents, our team fought their way to the quarterfinals, delivering a fantastic performance both on and off the field! 💪 These events have been a huge success, not just in terms of sporting achievements, but also in strengthening our teams across borders. This week, colleagues from various Hermes locations visited our technical center in Hamburg for product training. As always, our “trainer team” Julian Ehnes, Heiko Giese and Herbert prepared an incredible number of practical and theoretical training sessions to introduce our “grinding rookies” to the whole world of grinding and give them a comprehensive understanding of our products. From the production to the application of our products - there was no topic missing to create many “aha moments” for them and turn them into real professionals. There was also a sightseeing program to get to know Hamburg better, so that they are now going home with many, very different new impressions.
