PROJECT  Goodman is developing its first mass timber warehouse at Chifley Business Park, located at Moorabbin Airport in south-east Melbourne.     HESS TIMBER is supplying H.Troon with approximately 1,450 m3 of glulam and cross laminated timber products for this new warehouse development.     Constructed predominantly from mass timber with sustainability, in mind, the warehouse will achieve approximately a 24% reduction in embodied carbon footprint compared to similar steel developments.     The architecturally designed facility, targeting a 5 Star Green Star Buildings rating, will offer prime exposure on Boundary Road, where approximately 44,000 cars pass each day.     Key Features:  - Four units ranging from 3,500-4,300 sqm, with the ability to combine units to create larger space  - 99kW solar per unit  - Targeting a 5 Star Green Star Buildings rating  - 118 car parking spaces, including eight electric vehicle charging points    More information about the project: https://lnkd.in/dv8kiJ-f Developer: Goodman   Main Contractor: H.Troon  Structure: Vistek Structural Engineers // Klopfer Dobos Pty Ltd   Timber Supply: HESS TIMBER   Architect: Michael Carr Architect  Install: Sventek Cranes & Rigging PTY LTD // Black Door Building Images: © H Troon Pty Ltd

PROJECT  Designed with sustainability in mind, the new headquarters for St LukesHealth in Launceston, Tasmania, incorporates over 400 m³ of glulam. A key feature of the design within this 5,000 m² office development is the retention and integration of 19th-century warehouses, which structure the foyer and create a seamless connection to public spaces and the adjacent church grounds.  The contemporary tower, which rises above these historic warehouses, showcases modern timber technology while preserving elements of the past, such as the original timber trusses. This blend of old and new materials highlights the innovative approach to the building’s design, balancing heritage with modern architectural techniques. NEWS WoodWorks NZ 2024 in Rotorua, New Zealand, brings together over 200 leaders in engineered wood design and construction. PROJECT Although the new station on St. Kilda Road is not yet completed, the canopy of the underground station can already be admired in Melbourne.   In total, more than 350 m³ of curved and straight glulam as well as cross laminated timber components were delivered to Melbourne, where they come together to form this unique roof structure. We are looking forward to the official opening in 2025!

PROJECT  1.292. That’s the number of individual timber components that were planned, thought through and optimized, produced and installed in Windlesham, Surrey. 18 months of design work, 6 months of manufacturing and 6 months of on-site installation - to name just a few figures for this challenging project. Behind these figures is a team without which a project like this would be simply impossible. PROJECT  Utilising advanced parametric design and 3D modelling, together with the project participants HESS TIMBER optimised material usage and minimised waste, contributing to cost predictability together with ISG as the Main Contractor. Off-site prefabrication accelerated installation timelines, reducing on-site labour and enabling early occupancy, thereby maximising long-term operational efficiency. “This project demonstrates for the wider construction industry that CLT and timber in general can be as effective as concrete in biophilic design. PROJECT  The UCB Campus Windlesham, designed by the internationally renowned architectural practice Heatherwick studio, features the refurbishment of an existing campus in Surrey and the construction of a new three-story timber building at its core. The project greatly benefited from a collaborative approach among all stakeholders, facilitating meticulous program scheduling to optimize delivery timelines and maintain uninterrupted progress on-site. The overall program included 18 months of design work, 6 months of manufacturing, and 6 months of on-site installation.
