The Central European Rally is quite different from any other event as it spans three countries (Austria, the Czech Republic, and Germany) with asphalt stages and surfaces that are just as varied as you would expect from such a wide-ranging route. “All of them had something special” Nicoletta Russo, Senior Press Officer at Hyundai Motorsport, recently took on an additional role close to her heart: joining a select panel of expert instructors for WRC Promoter’s ‘Beyond Rally Women’s Driver Development Programme’ initiative to help up-and-coming female drivers. The candidates undertook an intense three-day training and evaluation camp in Poland where they were mentored on a range of key WRC skills, including the basics of PR and interview techniques. Terry Harrison, as Test Coordinator at Hyundai Motorsport, has a role which requires a dynamic skillset: organising the tests that are essential for car development and driver preparation before WRC events. From being interested in motorsports in his teenage years to competing as a co-driver by age 18, he has actively participated in road rallies and stage events across the UK, Ireland, Belgium, and France. His career has been truly inspirational, with many diverse opportunities coming his way. Hyundai Motor Company, in collaboration with Toyota Motor Corporation, are inviting fans in South Korea at a unique motorsport event - the ‘Hyundai N x TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Festival’ – which will take place at the Everland Speedway, Yong-in, on 27th October 2024. Hyundai N will showcase WRC cars, including the i20 N Rally 1 Hybrid and i20 N Rally 2, driven by Hyundai Motorsport WRC drivers Thierry Neuville, Dani Sordo, and Andreas Mikkelsen. Hyundai’s TCR drivers Norbert Mischelisz, and Mikel Azcona will drive Hyundai N’s production car lineup, including the IONIQ 5 N and Elantra N models.
