Join us at the International Fair Trade Summit 2024! 📅 On 17 September 2024, from 10:30-12:00 CAT, ICLEI Europe and the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) will host an exciting session titled 🌍 "Leveraging Fair Trade for circular food systems: what can business and cities do?" 🌍 The event, organised in the framework of the #AfriFOODlinks project, will bring together: ✅ Representatives from fair trade and circular businesses ✅ Cities and local incubators ✅ Civil society Key discussion points include: 🔛 Exploring synergies between fair trade and circularity 👩🏾🌾 Highlighting benefits for businesses and local governments 🤝 Showcasing successful examples of collaboration 📈 Exploring how cities can support businesses in applying circular or fair trade principles, with a focus on women and youth. We are happy to see clear commitments that the #EU will: ✅ Stay the course on the #EUGreenDeal, especially to hit the 2030 and 2050 targets. 🏙 Ensure a #CohesionPolicy with local and regional governments at the centre. 🏚 Address the #housing crisis in our cities and support Europe's inhabitants coming from all walks of life. 🌍 Continue addressing key issues as water #resilience, climate #adaptation and restoring #nature. These actions need to be designed together with cities and regions as they represent the level of governance closest to citizens.
