🚀 Significant Progress in WASTE2H2 Project! 🌍♻️ We're pleased to announce a key achievement: a first set of promising #ionicLiquids capable of solubilizing low-density polyethylene (LDPE), polypropylene (PP), and polystyrene (PS)—plastics that make up almost 50% of global plastic waste 🌐. This milestone is the result of strong collaboration across WASTE2H2 partners (🚀Coordinated by CIC energiGUNE and in collaboration with FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, ECOLE NATIONALE SUPERIEURE DE CHIMIE DE PARIS, IoLiTec Ionic Liquids Technologies GmbH and Sener), combining cutting-edge experimental and computational tools. With this breakthrough, we're one step closer to turning #plasticWaste into valuable, decarbonized products like #cleanHydrogen (#H2) and solid carbon 🌱⚡. More updates are on the way!
