  • 𝗢𝗺𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝟱𝟬 | 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 A fresh update from ELICA YARD, where the Omaya 50 is currently under construction. At iYacht, we are proud to have been involved in both the design and engineering of this exceptional multihull. Unlike many power cats, which are essentially engine-powered versions of their sailing counterparts, the Omaya 50 has been conceived and engineered from the ground up as a true power catamaran. Every detail, from the hull to the systems, has been meticulously developed for optimal performance, with a focus on its powerful propulsion. As you can see from this video, the launch day is fast approaching. In just a few weeks, we’ll be flying to Bulgaria to experience it firsthand. #multihull #catamaran OMAYA Yachts

  • 𝗛𝗦𝗙 60 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 | 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹 | 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 & 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘆 𝗶𝗬𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘁 The HSF 60 Light, based on the HSF 60 built by Jalboot Group, takes advantage of a lightweight structure and optimized hull design, offering both efficiency and performance. Designing and engineering this new boat required several changes to the original model. First, we designed a new superstructure and a new deck. The interior was re-imagined to serve its purpose as a high-speed shuttle vessel, with seating for up to 56 passengers and ample luggage space. Among the main updates is the expanded bathing platform. We carefully studied all new laminated components and calculated the lamination areas—this was essential to provide a precise quote for manufacturing and establish an accurate pricing structure. The open layout promotes fresh air circulation, eliminating the need for air conditioning, which translates to reduced costs, lighter weight, and no onboard generators—resulting in lower maintenance. The HSF 60 Light can be propelled by either: - Outboards, whose main advantage is the ease of maintenance. The stern is complemented by a swim platform placed between the two outboards. - An hybrid propulsion version, featuring a waterjet plus an electric motor. The use of the jet allows for a larger swim platform and makes the boat suitable for shallow waters, reducing the draft of the HSF60 Light. The hybrid version integrates a DC low-voltage motor for loitering or as a booster, offering an eco-friendly alternative with the ability to operate with minimal environmental impact. • 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗮𝗿𝗱 26 | 𝗔 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁-𝗼𝗳-𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗯𝗼𝗮𝘁 iYacht was responsible for designing and engineering this daysailer with classic lines. We created it while respecting the family feel, maintaining the essential design features of its smaller sister, the Scangaard 21. Classic Boat Magazine defined both models as "𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁-𝗼𝗳-𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘁𝘀" and they certainly are. Both the 21 and the 26 feature long keels, deep cockpits, and transom-hung rudders. As seen in the pronounced sheer line and classic bow, the 26 aims to preserve the legacy of traditional values and aesthetics. ▹We designed the 26 to be easy to sail single-handed. The standard sails, including the mainsail and self-tacking jib, can be operated from the cockpit. ▹ Simplicity and usability are reflected in other engineering choices as well. With a total weight of 1.7 tonnes, the boat remains easy to trailer on the road, and the central lifting eye simplifies craning operations. ▹ Measuring just over eight meters in length, this daysailer offers a spacious and comfortable cockpit, suitable for up to six people. #classicboat #sailing

𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘁’𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 24 𝘁𝗼 30 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 M/Y Ursus has embarked on her sea trials—congratulations to all parties involved! We are proud to have provided the initial spark for this conversion project. A few years ago, we were involved in the early design phase of the naval architecture for a superyacht's stern extension. The owner consulted us to assess the feasibility of the modification, leading us to conduct calculations and study its design and performance implications. Our goal was to determine whether the intended gains in stability, cruising performance, top speed, and static and dynamic trim improvements could be successfully achieved. The vessel, originally a 24m Explorer Motoryacht built by Drettmann, has now been transformed into a 30m superyacht, thanks to the work of Balk Shipyard and Mulder Design in the Netherlands. #superyacht #refit #navalarchitecture #yachting #boatbuilding

  • Can a yacht look fast—even when at anchor? This was the challenge when designing and engineering the Performance 90X. The objective was clear: the boat had to look powerful—not just when cutting through the water, but even when standing still. Every line, every surface, and every proportion was crafted to express speed, strength, and power at a glance. The shape itself had to tell the story of power and performance. Currently in production and set to launch in the coming months, the Performance 90X, designed and engineered by iYacht, is becoming a reality. #performance #speedboat #boating #iyacht

𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘆 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝘁: 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 Africa is a continent full of contrasts and challenges—a truth that quickly becomes evident to anyone who travels through its breathtaking regions. From Egypt with its famous tourist sites to Cape Town, Africa also represents a daily struggle for survival for both humans and wildlife. Starvation and civil wars still impact the lives of many people here, even in the 21st century. Replacing polluting engines was just one piece of the puzzle. An important question was raised: What would a boat look like if it was designed not just to survive, but to meet the future needs of the lake? A boat that would be safe, sustainable, affordable and locally produced. The answer came in the form of HDPE (high-density polyethylene), a material known for its durability, chemical resistance, and recyclability. Fishing boats made from this material means that it could resist the corrosive forces of the lake’s waters, that could withstand the harsh African sun. But this wasn’t without its challenges. Importing these boats from Europe or Asia would not only be ecologically unviable but also financially unsustainable, so the only way forward was to produce these boats locally, using industrial rotational moulding. A pioneering effort—an endeavour that had never been done on this scale in Africa. Supported from our client eWave, the first step was to study the regional fishing practices and then we began the product design phase. It quickly became clear that the construction of such boats was technically feasible if a sufficiently large rotational oven could be provided. The Slovenian company Roto® (Roto Industry) has been an enthusiastic leading partner since day one. After years of development and initial tests, a nearly house-sized oven is now almost operational in Kenya. The first test runs have exceeded all expectations. Where are we now? The project is now on the verge of production. The molds are being further refined, and in Hamburg, prototype test runs are underway to determine the best motor configurations. But the story doesn’t stop here. The sustainable boat model developed for the fishermen of Lake Victoria is already being followed by other boats for other applications—houseboats, ferries, and more. The story of these fishing boats for Lake Victoria is still being written, and so is the story of Africa’s development. Both are filled with challenges, yes, but also with boundless potential. And just like the vast lake itself, this journey is far from over. Read the full story on iyacht’s website. #iyacht #sessyboat #africa #yachtdesign Udo A.
