 We did it – our first participation in #DeutscherCompanyCup2024 in Flensburg, Oct 3 – Oct 5, 2024. With light wind conditions, the regatta proved to be a challenge, we enjoyed the teamspirit, sailing together, and good seamanship with the crews of other companies. The warm welcome for us as first-time starters, organization and team spirit of the Company Cup has been great – thank you Stefan Reigber and team. We are thrilled to have finished the regatta on the 3rd rank in Liga 1!   Antje Rigó, Christian Bockler, Sebastian Boseke, Alexandre Fontanaud – we all had a lot of fun on “Lykke”, a Beneteau First 27.7, enjoyed the Deutscher Company Cup 2024, our good teamspirit and are looking forward to next years Company Cup.

Exciting news from our subsidiary Jebsen & Jessen e-Mobility!

Hello everyone, I’m Henning Mauer, and I’ve been working at Jebsen & Jessen Hamburg Group for three years now as a Project Manager. In my role, I had the opportunity to lead our move to Rödingsmarkt. During this major project, I was once again reminded of what makes this company so special to me: the close, familiar atmosphere and the friendly, supportive interactions between colleagues. In my day-to-day work, I focus on structuring, communicating, and prioritizing tasks to ensure that projects run smoothly. A fun fact about me: ever since my handball-playing days, I’ve had a quirky habit—I always put on my left shoe before my right! When I’m not working, you’ll find me at the gym, cooking, or planning my next travels with my family. I was recruited to Jebsen & Jessen by a headhunter from my previous role, and I’ve been enjoying the journey ever since!

On 2nd of October, the BGA celebrated its 75th anniversary and organized the Entrepreneurs' Day 2024 in Berlin to mark the occasion. A political event at which all the well-known participants from the wholesale and foreign trade sector were present. Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Economics Minister Robert Habeck, Finance Minister Christian Lindner and Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group Jens Spahn had their say and addressed the German SME sector on the undesirable political developments in the areas of global competition, climate protection, skills shortages and digitalization. They had recognized these and now want to identify ways out of the crisis together with the EU and its member states. Robert Habeck calls for companies, the federal states and their authorities to take more responsibility for their own actions and Olaf Scholz reports that so-called “EU-only FTAs (Free Trade Agreements)” should enable a new free trade dynamic in the future. Our CEO and Managing Partner Fritz Graf von der Schulenburg attended the Entrepreneurs' Day as Vice President of the BGA, member of the Enlarged Presidium and Chairman of the BDEx together with Stefan Dircks, member of the BGA Presidium and Chairman of the Foreign Trade Committee, and Christian Justus, who was co-opted onto the BGA Presidium and succeeds Dircks as Chairman of the Committee.
