    James Cameron is known for his deep dives into film direction and sea reefs. In both cases, he seems to like using lots of technology. Maybe that’s why he joined Stability AI’s board about a month ago. However, nobody cared much about that as Stability AI seemed to have lost much of its relevance after the botched release of Stable Diffusion 3. But maybe all hope is not lost: JVM STABLES PRESENTS: LESSON LAIRNED! This week, Stability AI released Stable Diffusion 3.5, the update for SD3 that promises to fix its shortcomings (some people still wake up at night, terrified of body parts lying on grass).  SD3.5 is currently available in a ‚large‘ variant with 8 billion parameters (Flux has 12) and a ‚large-turbo‘ variant of the same size that is distilled from the ‚large‘ model for image generation in just 4 steps. (A third and smaller version with 2.8B called ‚medium‘ is set to be released next week.)  The model architecture of the ‚large’ models remains almost the same as before with minor tweaks. So, any difference in quality will have to come from better training. The license has also been tweaked, though. It now comes without usage caps and is basically free for any purpose for any person or organisation with less than 1 million yearly revenue. On top of that, the base large model might be easier to fine-tune than Flux.1 [dev/schnell] as it is not distilled. Reason enough to conduct a short and sweet comparison between: ➡️Flux.1 [dev] ➡️SD3 medium  ➡️SD3.5 large We compare the models on four prompts, picking the best of two generations for fairness.     Building Inclusive Communities Through ERGs 🌈✨ Yesterday, our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager, Naz Al-Windi, took part in the People and Culture Festival by medianet berlinbrandenburg e.V. in Berlin. Naz joined an insightful panel moderated by Yolanda Sylvana Rother from The Impact Company, alongside Liam Michelle Seifert and Lelo Ngadi Luamba, to discuss the crucial question: Why Must Companies Make ERGs a Core Part of Their Diversity Strategy? But what exactly are ERGs? Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are employee-led groups formed around shared experiences or common interests. At their core, they are about creating spaces for exchange, empowerment, and community-building. Often, ERGs provide a platform for employees who have experienced discrimination to find support and voice their concerns. At Jung von Matt, we’re proud to have two active ERGs: the LGBTQIA+ Space and the Diversity Architects. These groups offer safe, supportive environments for queer and racialized employees, leading to important initiatives and demands that shape our diversity strategy.
