Ever sat through a presentation that looked polished but just didn’t resonate? After years of helping executives and organizations navigate the complexities of strategy and transformation, I’ve noticed something that often goes unnoticed – the real impact of a presentation is not in the slides, but in the story they (and you) tell.   In consulting, we often rely on presentations to communicate, offering structure, clarity, and visual appeal. Reality is: no slide deck can replace a strong narrative. The story behind the slides is where the magic happens.   At Knitter & Associates, whether we’re working with a client or delivering a pitch, we always start by crafting a compelling storyline. This not only guides the presentation but shapes the entire conversation. Every slide title is an "action title" – a key takeaway or insight that drives the discussion forward. It’s a small shift that makes a huge difference.   This principle applies across the board: communicate clearly, with purpose, and structure everything like a table – rows of insights and columns of actions.   ➡️ Presentations are just tools, not the end goal. It’s the message, the story, that leaves a lasting impact.   How do you ensure your presentations leave a lasting impression? What’s your approach to telling the story behind your slides?

The surprising truth about "Dead Eye Coffee" – and what our Amsterdam workation taught us. Our K&A Days in Amsterdam were an incredible blend of productivity, team bonding, and exploring the city’s unique charm. Here’s a quick recap of what stood out: 💻 Coworking at Ruby Luuk Workspace:  From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The team was incredibly accommodating, making all the admin and logistics effortless, so we could focus on what mattered most – our work. The bright, thoughtfully designed space gave us room to think, collaborate, and get things done. 🍽️ Dinner at The Lobby Fizeaustraat:  After a full day, this restaurant was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy some amazing food, just a short walk from our hotel. A welcoming atmosphere, five-star dishes, and a chance to reflect on the day made it a highlight. 🎒 Amsterdam adventures: - Cruising through the canals gave us a whole new view of the city – a true must-do. - Watching the sunset from the Lookout Tower was an awe-inspiring way to wrap up a busy day. - And in between, we made time for some important internal discussions – from refining our application and onboarding process to planning for the Christmas season. It was a valuable opportunity to align as a team and set our sights on the future. Now, about that "Dead Eye Coffee"... As we shared our caffeine habits with a friendly Uber driver, he was shocked to hear that Christoph starts his mornings with three espressos 👀 for those not in the know, a "Dead Eye Coffee" is essentially a regular coffee with three shots of espresso – and while Christoph might not mix his caffeine quite that way, it turns out he’s been living the "Dead Eye" lifestyle all along. The rest of us? A bit more moderate 🙃 What has been your Amsterdam highlight if you've already been? Corporate transformation is doomed. Or is it? Let’s talk about the blind spot that's costing billions. John Kotter's famous assertion that 70% of business transformation efforts fail still resonates in boardrooms today. But what sets the successful 30% apart? It's not just strategy - it's people. Successful transformations share key attributes in employee engagement: 1. Competitive compensation: salaries that outpace industry averages 2. Ownership opportunities: generous stock option programs 3. High job satisfaction: a strong focus on employee wellbeing 4. Inclusive practices: hiring strategies emphasizing equity and diversity 5. Female leadership: higher representation of women in management 6. Gender balance: a more equitable overall gender distribution But the human element is just the beginning. Other critical success factors include: - Clear, measurable goals: providing direction and benchmarks for progress - Agile methodologies: embracing rapid iteration and feedback cycles - Comprehensive stakeholder engagement: ensuring buy-in at all levels - Data-driven decision-making: leveraging analytics for strategic choices While people-centric approaches consistently emerge as vital, we're curious about your experiences. Have you observed any innovative approaches that defy the odds? #corporatetransformation #leadership #changemanagement #impactthatmatters
