Our co-founder and CTO, Lucas Hild, spoke about Knowunity’s AI last night at 𝘈𝘯 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 Mistral AI - 𝘜𝘯𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘦𝘯 𝘈𝘐 over at AchtBerlin. Lucas shared insights on how we’re becoming the #1 AI learning companion for students worldwide by building a hyper-personalized AI tutor in partnership with Mistral AI. To capture the Gen-Z voice, we train a smaller LLM to answer questions from our users like their besties would. Think BFF-level advice that just hits different 👀 Lucas Hild also shared how we’re enhancing our AI tutoring for students by using a Socratic approach, where it asks thoughtful questions to guide them in solving problems step-by-step. We use something called a “few-shot system prompt” with a “chain of thought method”, which basically means we’re teaching the AI to guide students to their own answers instead of just handing them out. 🙌  With our Knowunity app, students actually learn how to reach solutions and apply critical thinking one step at a time with AI. Fast forward to today, and we're a team of 70+ with a view over central Berlin. This journey of growth was built one day at a time by a team fully committed to learning and evolving. To be clear, growth isn’t just about the events we attend, the courses we complete, or the books we read. For us at Knowunity it’s in the small wins and subtle progressions that we encounter in our day to day work. It’s not always easy to spot while it’s happening, especially when we’re focused on being “fast, not perfect” (another one of our core values 👀). But it’s there with every new challenge and lesson. Josh took us on a fascinating journey through the world of AI, sharing insights into topics that schools don’t typically cover - from AI as a pattern-matching machine to the role of neural networks and large language models in today's tech landscape. It was a powerful reminder that in AI, a model is only as good as its training data - a principle that ties back to how we make Knowunity the #1 learning companion for students worldwide 🚀 The talk, which Josh also gives to students at New York University, provided valuable takeaways for our non-techies. As a young founder himself (fun fact: he started Knowunity in high school!), Benedict gave the audience a glimpse into his world with these insights: 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘃𝘀. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Finding the balance between humility and confidence is so important to success. Guess what? It’s okay to admit when you’re not sure. Having a great network of experienced people around you to support you in those moments is priceless. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗻: The best results come from an environment of high trust and transparency. Benedict’s Reading Recommendation: 𝘙𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘳. 𝗣𝗼𝗽 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘇: 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 + 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗔 + #𝗣𝗔𝗞𝗖𝗢𝗡𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀... Project A, one of our investors, hosted this year's PAKCon with sessions on key topics at several content hubs across Berlin. And Knowunity was there in full force. Our very own CEO & co-founder Benedict Kurz took part in a leadership panel discussion on “Vision, Culture, and Innovation Across The Growth Stages of a Company”. In addition to Benedict Kurz, the audience got input from fellow panelists Thomas Holl, Sara Fee Kirschhausen (Earlybird Venture Capital) and Daniel Schall (Black Semiconductor) as well as moderator Rainer Berak (Project A). There were many great insights that came from the panel but, if we had to share key takeaways, they are: 🧐 No matter where you are in your company’s growth trajectory, staying super close to the product should always be a priority. 📈 Invest in personal growth in order to achieve business growth. Reflecting on your unique skill set and hiring a coach is a great place to start. 🎤 To foster innovation and keep the vision and mission at the forefront of your business, you must embrace clear, transparent, and frequent communication.
