We've refurbished our #LEONI UK headquarters🏢 ! We kicked off 2024 by refurbishing our Newcastle-under-Lyme headquarters, marking a significant modernization. We upgraded our workplace infrastructure to a modern, comfortable, and appealing standard for our teams. Recently, we celebrated the official reopening together with around 200 guests, including our CTO, Walter Glück, CHRO, Michael Detert, and representatives from our key customers. The day’s agenda featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony ✂️, welcoming speeches, and a summer barbecue that offered a wide variety of food. Guests enjoyed viewing the impressive vehicles brought by our customers🎈. Inside the building, we set up market stations to showcase our engineering competencies and wiring harness products, allowing our visitors to see firsthand what we do here at #LEONI UK. This refurbishment underscores our commitment to investing in our UK head office and enhancing collaboration in a modern, comfortable environment. #LEONI #LEONIUK #collaboration

Did you know? 🤔 When it comes to modern automobiles, cable harnesses play a crucial role. They are the intricate networks of wires and connectors that ensure the electrical systems in our vehicles function seamlessly. Despite advancements in automation, the manufacturing of cable harnesses remains a labor-intensive process. Here’s why: Cable harnesses are custom-designed for each vehicle model. They vary in size, shape, and complexity, depending on the vehicle’s electrical requirements. Each harness must fit precisely within the limited space of the car’s body, making flexibility and customization key factors in their production. Our employees at #LEONI bring their dedication to quality and precision to assemble each harness while adapting quickly to new requirements and challenges. Although the human touch remains a critical aspect of manufacturing, we aim for innovation and maximum efficiency in our production. Since 2022, the Innovation Industrialization Center (#iiC) at LEONI Kiztingen has been our think-tank to push innovation and automation. It’s where experts from all over the world collaboratively work on new solutions for our factories. This unique space provides the best environment to develop and standardize new processes and techniques. Last month, Leoni México enthusiastically participated in the 11th "Cruzada Forestal" reforestation campaign, organized by the Mérida City Council and the Unidad de Desarrollo Sustentable. This initiative aims to plant 8,500 trees in urban areas, marking a significant step toward a greener and more sustainable future. Rubí irasema González Cortés, Lead Specialist at our production site in Mérida, shared her thoughts: "I am glad to have this experience with the #LEONI team and to see that we actively pursue the company's values of teamwork, collaboration, and environmental protection." Edgar Seleme, Head of the HSEE department in México, encouraged all employees to care for the environment within our company as well by eliminating non-value-added processes and conserving resources like paper, energy, water and reducing waste. Early in the morning, families, residents, teenagers and even pets gathered to participate in this sustainable activity in Santa Gertrudis Copó, Mérida, Yucatán. Experts provided detailed instructions and valuable insights for effective planting: from the correct depth of planting holes, using water-storing gel beads, to protecting plants with PVC pipes from herbivores. The planting activity lasted just over 2 hours, filled with joy, friendship, dedication and commitment to the environment. After a productive day, everyone celebrated with refreshing drinks and the delicious traditional dish "Cochinita," making a typical Yucatecan Sunday a meaningful experience. Kudos to our colleagues for caring for our environment and strengthening our community and workforce. #LEONI #EmpoweringConnections #Care #México #Sustainability

Did you know? 🤔 From the mid-1950s onward, cable assembly became increasingly important for LEONI. Initially serving the growing household appliance industry, wiring harnesses for cars became more and more relevant.. This led to the establishment of a separate plant for cable harness production in Kitzingen, Germany, in 1967. That plant solely concentrated on the growing business with the automotive industry, and it still does. Today, our engineers tinker there all day long to provide smart solutions for the mobility transition. How many meters of cables do you think are in a modern car's wiring harness? #LEONI #EmpoweringConnections #DidYouKnow #Kitzingen
